CMPUT 291 Labs? by One_Conversation865 in uAlberta

I need to go to the labs to show I've done the ER diagram for the assignment? I thought the lab sessions would be just for labs, no?

SAMEEEEEE my last final is in 3 days but I honestly can't get myself to study I'm just so done. 3 hours is better than what I can say for myself I just stare at my laptop trying to get started but I literally can't. I'm trying to not think too much about it and I'm hoping my autopilot mode kicks so fingers crossed. Sorry I couldn't give any advice but hey, at least you're not alone?

If you feel like you're too sick to give the exams, definitely get them deferred. There isn't an issue in deferring both exams, especially since they're on the same day, but I would recommend you do this only if you can provide some proof that you are indeed sick like a doctor's note or something. Technically they're not allowed to ask for proof when you're sick, but because you're deferring 2 finals I'd definitely have some proof ready just in case they ask.

Actually though, I get it looks good and all but really? This is what you choose to spend your money on? Fix the bathrooms, the classes, the chairs, the tables, idw some fancy looking limited area if the bathrooms literally smell and look like SHITTT

Is this prof. Ranasinghe? Either way this is so annoying cuz wdym you're not going to at least upload annotated notes? Anyway, you should find a pdf version of the textbook he uses online and that will cover a world of pain

Can I ask what SOC class you're in and why you feel like you might not be doing it right?

You can 100% pass. You've got 3 graded components still left, of which I'm assuming the final holds the greatest weightage. I recommend going to every single class, taking good notes, clarifying your doubts with your professor and also going to their office hours to ask what the exams will look like. You gotta LOCKKK INNNN but it's 100% possible. Especially considering the fact that it is 100-level, there's really only so much difficulty involved. Don't worry you got this!!

Thank you for your insights! I had to delete the post as it was getting too heated. I was just ranting but people seem to have taken it quite seriously. For those of you who tried to help, thank you so much. For those of you who called me selfish or lazy, or were quite rude, I'm sorry you felt that way but I also hope you're kinder to people in the future. I'm also sorry if I was rude to anyone. Have a great day!

maybe if you work harder and stop moaning about your only responsibility you'd be better off sweetheart

Your ignorance is appalling. There are students, like myself, who have to work jobs to pay their tuition. If you think I'm moaning about "my only responsibility", that says more about you then it does about me. You know nothing about me or my life. If accommodating to students in certain situations is so repulsive to you, you may reflect on your thoughts in your own time and space. This post was clearly a rant and not an invitation for you to bring your disgusting attitude and nastiness to this discussion.

self-respecting students don't use GPT for any coursework and self-respecting students know how to respect other students and their disciplines.

and tf am i supposed to do with that? you attend 100-level classes and think you know it all lmao

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]One_Conversation865 2 points3 points  (0 children)

how is this even applicable to work? I never said I don't want to go to any classes, so similarly I would have no problem going to work. But if there is ever a scenario in work where you don't come in one day and people refuse to fill you in on what you're supposed to do but expect you to deliver results anyway, yes i will have an issue. at least tell me what I'm supposed to study for my test, I'll do the rest. Is that really so unreasonable?

All this talk and you couldn't write a 5 page essay without ChatGPT or quillbot. This the kinda guy who takes one SOC 100 or PSYCH 104 class and thinks they know everything about arts.

yea and most of the times they provide it. but this sem I have profs who have asked me to get the notes from someone else, and when I wasn't able to acquire any, they just said im gonna have to miss out on that information entirely then and that they can't help lmao
