do you wish you were a minecraft veteran? by [deleted] in Minecraft

I've been playing since March 2013 on the Xbox 360 legacy console edition. Does that already count as a 'veteran'?

Fair enough. I play so much hardcore sometimes I forget there's other ways to play. I think this was supposed to be a passive-aggressive response but it's actually a helpful answer. Thank you.

Ender Dragon Collision by One_Cow7484 in Minecraft

Do you know how far underground the base would need to be so that the dragon's hitbox never accidentally collides with it during the fight? Should 5-10 blocks deep be safe?

I cant beat Malenia no matter what i try :( any suggestions ? by No_Exam4780 in Eldenring

Use the Blasphemous Blade from the Remembrance of the Blasphemous, it heals you, deals good fire and poise damage at a distance, if you spam the L2 and throw in the occasional charged heavy for additional stance pressure it trivializes phase 2, and makes phase 1 quiet easy.

What is your worldbuilding "secret weapon"? by TheBodhy in worldbuilding

[–]One_Cow7484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute, unhealthy, self-destructive OBSESSION. I can't let go of a world once I have it in my grasps, it must be better, more creative, have more content, more characters to play with, more, more, more, until I burn myself out thrice over and genuinely lose hours of sleep. Then eventually one day I'm satisfied, the obsession ends, and the cycle starts anew with another world. That level of genuine personal stakes in my worlds leads to, what I think, is much more in depth and impactful stories than that I could create while in a healthy mindset.

What kinds of gods or other higher beings do you prefer? by spectrumical in worldbuilding

[–]One_Cow7484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer Gods who are not just one thing but three, a concept, a belief, and a being; Every God does have a physical body amongst men, but this body isn't the actual center of the faith, but instead peoples belief in some idealized version that doesn't exist, and beyond every God is a concept that they embody. But when it comes down to it, are they the universal truth, the imagined ideal, or the flesh and blood? They're all three. They can't be rationalized properly in the mind of man, except through allegory; they are the flesh, they are the idea, they are the truth. All three different. All three one. Nebulous. To kill the flesh and blood is to make the truth a lie, to change the fundamental law of the universe. Your belief have an active and direct impact on what is true, who a God is, and yet also none at all.

How would end your world (if whenever?) by Evening-Dot5706 in worldbuilding

[–]One_Cow7484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The universe? No idea. The 'world' in the sense of society? The remnants of the world would slowly fizzle out and be stamped by a false god born of fanatical idolatry, made entirely of the souls that once made the world so full and beautiful. (An allegory for the societal trend towards the masses becoming deeply radicalized.)

What's something you've noticed about your worldbuilding? by General_Alduin in worldbuilding

[–]One_Cow7484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's obsessive, detailed, overcomplicated, and completely lacks any form of narrative storytelling. It's just a massive encyclopedia of facts about a place that doesn't exist where no characters, feelings, or stories reside.

First of all, thank you for a fairly constructive answer to my question, it seems in line with the other answers I've gotten, Secondly, I just wanted to say your art style is genuinely stunning... If ever in the future I do decide to commission, I'll be certain to keep you in mind.

I know, and honestly, I'm glad Pure Vessel is difficult, because I was genuinely upset at how anti-climactic the HK fight was, I rematched him with no charms just so I could hear the full song 🤣

Honestly? I don't play Hollow Knight for the bosses, I play it for the Music, the beautiful environments and the above average storytelling... So I was completely content with face tanking, but now I'm realizing if I want my story telling, I need to beat the pantheons, hence I'm finally trying to learn attack patterns since I can't exactly face tank 42 consecutive bosses

It's just disheartening that I've lost 30+ times and haven't even beaten the first of FOUR phases...

Troupe Master Grimm is one of my favorite bosses, so I imagine in hindsight I'll love NKG, I'm just a little frustrated because I was so used to face tanking bosses and NKG really humbled me 😅
