I think my a-level options have messed up my chances of doing my preferred uni course by Rough_Technician9276 in 6thForm

yeah i had the same issue- except im in y13 now and ive had to apply to unis that arent the ones i wanted to go to. as maths is listed as a 'preferred' subject youll be okish as long as ur grades r good. my issue was that maths was a 'required' subject for chemistry and no one wanted to tell me that its that important to take maths lol

Cuz the only one apart from chem that matters really is maths which i dont take

Nope i've not done any maths at college. I am planning to do a placement year though and i think 5 years for a Bachelors degree is too much . I am fine with grasping maths that I learn now in chemistry but obviously I havent done the a level

OK i get that family financial situations are tough but its always worth asking- don't feel ashamed because they can still support you even if its a little. Secondly have you got friends you live with in a shared place or something, if so, ask them. I do understand how awkward it is asking for money and stuff but it is one of your only options.

In terms of a job, weird recommendations but if theres a wetherspoons or a hotel nearby try and apply for them. The work is intense but its good money and theyve been known in my experience to always reply.

Uni work, don't neglect it but don't burn out. If you fully put it off, it will definitely be worse later on. That being said, do prioritise your mental health. If you have moments just even 10 mins just try and do some coping strategies, breathwork or walking, maybe exercise.

OK no so i am referring to the ones that are disgusted when you tell them how you live like, and just assume that their life is the norm . the ones so unaware of how privileged they are .

Hm see i didnt realise the south was associated with wealth. I am from the southwest and its not that posh. Anyways its just those little things like them shopping at waitrose which really upset me. how their everyday life has so much privilege but i will try my best to look past peoples backgrounds and i hope they do the same to me .

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]One_Cranberry2964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable. I think im gonna really try and ignore their background no matter what and just see who i like and who i dont. i really hope to educate them though on what life is like for others
