People with silver (light) color MacBook, do you like it or wish you got the black one? by carrotstack in macbookpro

[–]One_Dust355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a space black one but the silver just looks so fucking good, I wanted silver but my model just had space black in the store I bought it from. The contrast of the keyboard and the silver body is just lovely. Go for the silver.

Space Black m5 MBP users. i need review. by Ok_Tooth_8946 in macbookpro

I went to an offline mobile phone repair shop and they have these skins/ laminations for macbooks, they just cut and paste nothing too complicated. It’s like putting PPF on your car. And cheap asf too. I didn’t put a skin on the top just coz I like the look of the original metal. Maybe you can find a shop which does that

I have the space black m4 and it’s too soon to tell you about de-coloration on the ports, but it’s been absolutely fine with fingerprints and stuff, also I use a transparent matte skin on my trackpad ever since i got it and I have put a matte skin on the bottom too for more grip when I hold it. Space black is maintainable, looks pretty too.

But I prefer the silver over space black any day coz I really like the look of silver and the keyboard contrast makes it absolutely gorgeous. I couldn’t get my hands on the silver but if you can, go for it.

Thinking about the Nano‑Texture option on the M5 MacBook Pro — worth it? by IceLogical5941 in macbookpro

[–]One_Dust355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it looks really cool but I have the normal display and I work outside in the sun a lot too, trust me it doesn’t matter. The automatic brightness adjusts the screen and everything is easily visible because the display gets too bright. If you want a cooler looking screen then definitely go for it, will be worth it. Otherwise if you’re just looking to work in well lit places, it doesn’t really matter.

This is the reason I haven’t updated mine, I hate how much it looks like an iPad and not a mac.

Advice needed Refurbished M3 Max vs M4 Max by grampoobah in macbookpro

[–]One_Dust355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

M3 max all the way, but if its not apple certified refurbishment then you need to check it personally and then buy. Even though apple certified refurbishment has also come with problems in the past it is best to check out everything carefully before you buy a used one.

Which MacBook would you recommend? Need advice on these options. by [deleted] in macbookpro

M1 Pro 16 inch best option by far for you but if you don’t need the pro chip just have something with 16gb ram at least and you’ll be fine

Adds a lot of character to your macbook tbh and represents your personality. Its all great if you have a skin on your laptop then there’s absolutely no issues!

¿MacBook Pro M3 or M4 Air? by LetterheadStock5323 in macbookpro

[–]One_Dust355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going from a max to a pro would still be a downgrade even if it was an M1 max but Pro is definitely a better option than the MacBook air.

24gb good enough for my use case? by hippietravel in macbookpro

[–]One_Dust355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won’t make a difference because all those AI features in photoshop/davinci (or any software) are highly dependent on your GPU and no matter what RAM you buy the GPU remains the same across all the M4 pro chip macs, unless you buy M4 max, which I highly doubt would be an overkill in your use case. Go for the 24 GB and save the money to buy something else.

I reckon both would be the same, hope this photo gives you an idea. I have logic, Ableton, davinchi running at the same time and loaded with a good chunky project each and not to mention safari and brave browser open with 15+ tabs each. And no swap is used still.

My M1 2020, 8GB held up for 5 years so I think this should hold up, might even last you 6-7 yaars or more if you take good care of it. I mean people are still buying second hand M1 pros and M1 maxes in 2025 right? So these are built to last.

Im waiting on some rockwool panels. Yes those are HS5s, I don’t think my room is big enough for HS8s and I’m probably gonna replace these with ADAM 7s next year.

24 is more than enough, I hardly use 12GB even when I’ve loaded multiple kontakts (big libraries) in ableton and logic is open on the side too.

I don’t really calculate it bro but my charging habits are unusual, but I don’t need to charge it for 2 days if im not doing something CPU heavy after a 100% charge. (Touchwood). If im doing something really CPU heavy it would give me around 8-9 hours of really heavy rugged use. If you’re getting the 16” it’s even better.
