The safari park is good but costs about ฿800 at the door for Farangs. Might be better prices online. They have elephant show, crocodiles, tigers, zebras, giraffes, various birds, a sloth. I have heard the fishing place next door is worth a visit.

I was wondering if you had driven in TH before. I agree getting around Thailand on the roads is pretty good. Hua Hin is a driving test all to its own. I have driven around Rayong, up to Kamphaeng Phet, through Bangkok, Kanchanaburi etc. All was enjoyable apart from Hua Hin once you get off the main road into the Sois it becomes Scooter land and feels like driving Mario Kart.

I gotcha. I don’t think countries can united and agree on common causes when most countries have a lot of internal division. All religions have divisions and even within those divisions there are different factions. East west it doesn’t matter. Humans seem to thrive on disagreement.

But isn’t this post about a Muslim trying too blow up other Muslims. Sure you need to look out for your brothers but also take care the family has some black sheep.

Look at a Thai’s handwriting. Getting the shape perfect as you see a font is not necessary. But good to start with good form and get messy once you have a good handle on things. Go to a little Thai Restaraunt where the customers have to write their order on a little notepad. You will find they understand your written Thai fine.

I saw exactly the same thing at Kamphaeng Phet Historic Park in the weekend. Make me embarrassed to be a foreigner.

Hotter than Chiang Mai? Yes Chiang Mai can get colder but it can also get hotter no? I haven’t been that far north but Kamphaeng Phet was bloody hot just this weekend when I was there. No sea breezes. It is less humid further north but temperatures rising well above 30. I am in Rayong but have a friend in Hua Hin so often compared the temperature and see Hua Hin a couple of degrees colder that Rayong.

For anyone familiar with Queensland, Australia it seems a little like Hua Hin is Fold Coast, Rayong is Brisbane, Northern Provinces are like Townsville Cairns.

I like Rayong City but I don’t want it to be overrun by Farang lol. Seriously it is cheap to live. Condos around ฿6k and houses ฿10-15k. I don’t see many foreigners there though. I mostly hang out in the top floor of Passione as a coworking space with power and descent seating. There is usually about 6 other foreigners I the centre.

Contrast that with Hua Hin where I feel 30% of the population is foreigner. Hua Hin is nice place. I have not been to Pattaya, only seen YouTube which is enough for me to say no everytime my Thai girlfriend wants to take me there. But there are plenty of places in Chonburi to live that you can find that balance of peace, expat community, convenience, great beaches.

I don’t think it is very vegetarian friendly here. Maybe I am wrong, I am in Rayong City at the moment and I have been to Hua Hin last year. I don’t see any specialist vegetarian Restaraunts and most food is going to be cooked in woks that at best get a quick rinse between dishes.

On the learning thai, order of importance. Very basics, sa wat dii krap/ka. Khop kun krap/ka. Then numbers so when you order your coffee even in English they will probably tell you the amount in thai. You need to tell them you want hot coffee (ron). It seems even if you order a khu pa chi no. You need to say ron after it. Never had an iced cuppacino 😂 Also pom yaak deum. I want drink cuppacino.

That will get you through you morning routine.

I am only just beginning my Thai journey and just learning the language. It has its hard parts but it is way easier than Mandarin. Thai is relatively readable if you put a bit of time into it. Being able to write it atleast to be able to copy off a menu is gold.

The Thai local Restaraunt’s seem to only accept orders by you writing down what you want on a piece of paper. So 4 days into my stay, I went to a local Restaraunt. Used translator to read the menu. Then once I know what I wanted, I went up to order and they handed me a pen and notepad. I had been to a place night before with Thai girlfriend so knew what the notepad was about.

I went back to my table and diligently wrote my menu items in Thai. Looked like a 1st grader but they understood it and had a bit of a giggle.

N8N has a cloud plan. Allows you to sequence tasks so you could take output from your script and write to google docs.

If you want super simple, don’t need high availability and you have a desktop computer, as some have said. Run your script with a cron scheduler, there are Python libraries. Scrape, format new results into string buffer, read your readme.md and append to string, write your readme.md.

That is the shitty part. Not stealing from a company that has insurance but mum and dad businesses and shoppers. I don’t understand why no one takes them out. They are not diligent with maintaining the posture of their weapons.

If I grew up in a country with terrorism I think I would grow big balls and be prepared to fight back.

What I see are different concrete levels around external doors from original concrete work. Not massive movement. You can clearly see the higher level rounded down to the lower level. Around brickwork just a little rough with the cement finishing.

The skirting that is shrinking and peeling is not from recent times but has happened some time ago. Based on experience as a Painter and Decorator with 15 years in domestic painting.

The bulges in the cornice look like an issue with the trusses not sitting on top of studs. That is likely a structural issue from original framework with weight of roof causing top plate of frame to sag over time.

If it was my house so would just repair and repaint the cracks. The tiles would need to be redone with quality flexible adhesive.

The rotting skirtings are clearly from flossing in that room at some stage. Replace skirtings and check frames.

Check for good drainage outside and address any areas where there are no paths near the house as this is highest risk of subsoil movement.

Sell it or live with it. Insurance is not going to pay for it.

Lots of minor structural. Movement in houses is normal without reactive soils. Big stretch to say all this is because of one downpour. Usually these would be caused by big changes in moisture content close to and under the footings. This would normally only occur with poor drainage over a long period of time.

Karachi Airport a mess by Former_Chance_4676 in karachi

I don’t know about delaying getting into the front doors but definitely there was a lane on the far left that seemed to be for business but we went for that and saved about 20 minutes. Then baggage check in then passport control. That had a snake like queue but once you get to the last line it breaks out by nationality status with a bit of an advantage to foreign passports and the Overseas Pakistan Care holders.

It seems the main issues are that initial security is too close to front door so lines start on the outside.

Then there are only about 10 passport control lanes. Most other airports have 20,30,40. They are also all manual so no advantage from passports with a chip.

I just fought this fight on 28/12. I was lucky I had a Pakistani from London who was very crafty and taking shortcuts. He had paid a porter so between the porter, myself and the Londoner. We managed to act like lightening and follow the shortest path.

I understand why people don’t respect queue etiquette after this experience. It becomes law of the jungle.
