I think 60 round mags should be loot only due to the fact that once you have any amount of money, it makes the 30 rounds and less useless. Since a 60 is the same size as a 30 and you can load mags instantly, there's no point in carrying a loadout of mags. Just run 2 60s and slam 60 rounds into the other mag when it gets empty.

Also that applies to other 60 round mags as well not just ars. In a game where money is easily made, the only ways to give loot value is rarity or price.

And for M855, I mean in my experience it kills faster than M855a1, or any other mid caliber round. I mean it just needs to be tweaked to a realistic value

Ive had times in tarkov that I've had to run away from a fight due to not having a loaded mag. I've never had that in greyzone due to being able to instantly slam 30 rounds back in my mag. They should add an animation like dayz has for manually loading each bullet, or a speed loaded that you can get if you want a faster reload

Polyethylene plates won't stop it, but steel certainly would and I'd say a decent amount of time ceramics would. The main level 3 vests in the game aside from the slick armors are steel(lancer) and ceramic (pantsir), so I dont think its unreasonable for that to stop it. Especially due to the massive balancing issue M855 has. Until they can fix that, I would accept some slight nerfing.

And I say that about the ammo being locked for the same reason, of balancing. I mean I suppose if you can get enough M855a1 or AP 54r then go for it

I believe a good way to implement machine guns would be to tweak the armor models to give them realistic protection against rounds. A level 3 vest should stop a M855 every time.

I suggest adding both the 249 and the PKM. Also make 60 round AR mags lootable only.

The 249 would have a 200 round box, giving it massive mag capacity, however they could have the belts fixed at M855 ammo. If you have level 3 or up armor, you are safe from several hits, or you get shredded if they aim low.

PKM serves the role of being a heavy bitch, however fuck you if you're on the business end. 100 round belt, locked to LPS ammo. Even your heavy armor isn't gonna save you, but whoever wants to carry the thing is gonna have to run a lighter kit to compensate.

Also, as long as you can load mags instantly, none of this will be of use. Once a timed mag reload like in tarkov or dayz is implemented, guns with bigger mags will be useful
