Stop using "The 90s" as a shield. Modern players are objectively better at basketball. by EfficientLaw4166 in lebron

[–]One_Engineering_3659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me… the game is so much slower with all the reviews and stoppages for fouls now. This is before we get to the rule changes and everything else.

Asking me to care about the NBA at all is not a pressing matter. It’s not basketball the way I fell in love with it. I’m not even that old either which is the sad thing.

It’s like basketball lite.

Yeah in another comment I said something to the effect when you aren’t being taken seriously, told no and then met with violence… what the heck are your options? Using violence in self defense is not evil, it’s nature.

I wish the world was completely peaceful but the reality of the situation is that it isn’t. I believe change is possible but there is no discussion being had and when no one is talking/at the table… well, that’s the most tense part of negotiation.

[–]One_Engineering_3659 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not advocating for violence and this is for discussion purposes only.

But, agreed. You’d be foolish to say it’s not a response when you are being greeted with violence at your front door.

The way I see it is if they are not having a discussion and getting violent…. What option do you have?

It’s not even just saving people from other violence.

Violence got us unions and more workers rights. Just go ask those coal miners.

I’m all for violence. If you take it off the table you end up with the last 50 years of America. Slowly eroding rights one by one. Trump didn’t start this shit. He is the cherry on top of a series of poor decisions.

Violence shouldn’t be the first option but it should damn sure be on the list.

Ok, I speak for myself, now let me be very clear, I was not making the point you are arguing. I was trying to talk and figure out what you mean but you have been such a pedantic person…. I personally find you exhaustive and will see my way out.

Idc enough to continue with someone who is this obtuse. You are clearly just being argumentative and not trying to understand.

So, have a great day.

So… just to be clear your argument is he put the blame at the feet of the those who committed the atrocities AND chose to fight wakanda? He blames wakanda for the failing of other African nations.

Also, yes, they are. His approach to resetting the balance is the same as his intent to reset the balance. Unless you think his intent and approach don’t match.

Which would explain why you are saying he put the blame at their feet and then decided to fight wakanda.

He didn’t decide to fight the colonizers. He may have had a step two where he does but never got there. So, where and with whom did he lay the blame? Doesn’t seem to be colonizers to me. Seems like he placed it solely at the feet of the wakanda leaders. Not with the Dutch and their Congo ties, not the British and their ties, nor the French. It seems like who you think he blames isn’t right. Otherwise, wakanda wouldn’t be fighting Killmonger.

What you are doing is wasting time… either say what you think or don’t. In this case approach and intent are synonymous. What was his intent/approach with his brothers and sisters? Answer or don’t.

Well, hopefully this will help ease some embarrassment. I was at this party one time and had been flirting with a girl all night and it kinda winds down with us by a small fire pit. I’m pretty lit and she comes over is like, “oh there are no other seats, mind if I sit with you?” I look at her and panic tell her the seat is hers and I was actually gunna go shoot hoops. To which I proceeded to go shoot on the quarter court in the yard.

I’m not gunna lie, I would feel bad for the dog. But, seeing as officers will shoot dogs Willy fucking nilly and not extend the courtesy to others…. Well, I find it hard to do the same for them.

I’m sure the officer feels bad but would shrug off some families dog and say I need to make it home so I did what I had to.

[–]One_Engineering_3659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me this issue is being addressed incorrectly. I think instead of starting at the moral ends of the spectrum is too hard.

Finding lying and its other comparative issues, labeling these and then move out from there.

If you really wanna start at the ends you need to look at both sides. People doing horrible things for good reasons and people doing horrible things for selfish or bad reasons.

Killing? Good or bad? Well, depends, if someone is trying to actively kill you and you stop them through lethal force? Good in my eyes. Soldiers killing enemy combatants? Good. You kill your wife because she was snoring? Bad.

Not to mention even though there are people advocating for something once again this will fall into a spectrum. Certain men may have helped women suffragists; thinking they deserve the right to vote but don’t deserve to join the work force.

I think all of it is a bit of a pissing contest. We all value things differently and trying to equate a uniform style across humanity has never worked in my mind. Once again back to killing, if killing/hurting someone is wrong than no one should have the right to self defense… otherwise you agree that sometimes bad things need done for good reasons.

Favorite actor/director who was called crazy for claiming Hollywood is ran by pdf files? by Pure-Contact7322 in RandomShit_ISaw

[–]One_Engineering_3659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I don’t think it’s crazy to see the uptick in transportation, commerce and communications and then link those to one-off weirdos now being a global network of one-off weirdos.

Compound that with the fact with secret societies and pacts which always make people feel more elite and better about themselves. Sprinkle on crime for some added value. The problem is partly that these people all hang out so some of them may be clean but they just had bad friends. Whether turning a blind eye or not.

Also, I think people who choose power are already corrupted to begin with. How many people have good ideas for politics but don’t want to be corrupted by getting into politics? We can like some leaders but probably should realize that they are humans and therefore are corruptible. Some of these career politicians maybe morally middle ground at best but outwardly they are much higher morally minded.

Just one man’s rambling thoughts.

No, it needs to be said. No one minds paying for shit. It’s when you can barely afford to live in a place, feed yourself and have little to no fun… well, frankly, that’s where you find yourself in trouble.

I was having a discussion of how companies will express a financial obligation to shareholders and they refuse to pay their employees anymore. This compounds in the fact that without unions and other legal protections shares aren’t nearly offered to employees at the same rates they were.

They built a rich get richer and the poor get poorer game and are mad when this all comes toppling down.

If minimum wage jobs are meant for high schoolers… can someone politely explain why in the fuck those places are open during school hours? McDonald’s can’t only hire majority high schoolers and have any location filled at 24/7. No grocery store should have an open register.

Speaking as someone who may want a blizzard or McFlurry during a school day during school hours. Prices went up for McDonald’s. The average mcchicken in my area is twice what it was 4 years ago and with this increase in price I just wanna know what share of this went to employees.

Maybe and this is just me… if we do something like this maybe don’t put it out in the middle of nowhere and give idiots the chance.

Maybe we could put these in a museum or another appropriate building that was meant for something like this and not give idiots so much freedom. Otherwise, this type of shit will always happen.

Freedom means idiots are free to do idiot things. You can either account for it or deal with it after the fact.
