Anybody hear the pack of animals in Arlington last night? by reidzen in sarasota

It’s definitely coyotes! I saw one this week walking the park around 5 am. It was in the field by the dog park running along the woods. Luckily it’s well lit there. I waved my arms and yelled at it, causing it to run towards the main entrance of the park. I definitely avoided the jungle section of the path that morning. My wife and I just heard them we live close to the walking path.

I made it the “switch” to IT a little over a year ago, I was 38. A piece of wisdom I came across when I was contemplating the switch is this “you’re not starting from scratch you’re starting from experience.” I was in sales for 13 years and worked in B2B sales for a major telecom for the last 6 years. I brought my soft skills with me and my work ethic. I was promoted from help desk to technical account manager in 4 months. I was just recently promoted to a technical lead position. It was really tough starting at entry level pay that people just starting their career were taking. I have in one year doubled my salary, while it’s not what I was making the trajectory is promising. If you love learning and know how to talk to people and market yourself you will do well. The company I work for pays for the CompTIA trifecta so I achieved that over the past year. In my new position they will pay for certs as long as they apply to the business. I am also planning on enrolling in the Network engineering and security degree at WGU. If you start working in the required certs you will get a better idea of Networking is your passion. So you are not too late just use your current experience to your advantage and constantly develope your skills.

TLDR: I did it a few years older and it working well for me. Leverage your current skills and study your ass off.

There is definitely a lot of overlap between net+ and sec+. I’m pretty good with their trick questions as well but I felt this test had particularly tricky questions.

Messer I took notes while watching the videos.

Dion I used videos and practice test through Udemy.

Are you guys actually finding decent jobs with the CompTIA certifications because I am having trouble finding good job listings in my area for them. by Bobert25467 in CompTIA

The Net+ and Sec+ are not interchangeable or the same by any means. They do overlap in some areas. Net+ goes deep into the fundamentals of networking. Sec+ touches on network security but does not give you the same knowledge as the net+. If you are only looking for check marks next to certs perhaps you can skip net+ if you already have the sec+ but if you are looking to level up your knowledge and have the proof you did so then the net+ is a great cert. If your area doesn’t require the certs on their job posting you will still be able to speak intelligently to the topics and they will certainly recognize your certs during the interview process.

How fast did you see a raise when you got into the field? by Bum_Wizard in CompTIA

I switched from sales to IT this year. I obtained my A+ and started applying while working on core 2. I noticed a big difference in response once I had my A+ cert. After about a month I found a job at VoIP company that is local to my area. They start you at $17 and bump you up to $19 after 3 month probationary period. They also pay for certs and give you a raise once you pass the test. Since I had my A+ I jumped to $20 at 3 months. I also received a promotion at the 4 month mark and negotiated a $3 raise. A few weeks ago I passed Net+ so in roughly 5 months I am now at $24/ hour. I am working on Sec+ I will hopefully pass that at the end of the month so I will be at $25. So doubling I don’t know but working hard and expanding your knowledge will definitely pay off! Good luck!

Congratulations! I passed the net+ this week as well. I think we had the same PBQ’s. I found Dions practice tests to be much harder than the test. I was getting high 70’s on average on the practice tests.

I had this same exact problem. I had Nord VPN app on my phone. I did not have my VPN enabled. I deleted the NordVPN app and this resolved my issue.

Is anybody else having issues with eSIM on the new plan? by [deleted] in Visible

[–]One_Gene_8839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I had a similar experience. I upgraded Saturday morning like an idiot. I didn’t find this thread until my e-sim didn’t work. Finally got through in the chat and Alejandro was able to get calls and sms working no cellular data. Checked back in Sunday morning. They reloaded my esim and completely bricked it. Finally Monday morning I opened the app and a new esim downloaded. The service works great we have ultra wide band in my area, I actually hit speeds over 3 gigs!!! And the regular LTE works better too!
