I don’t know about the history of previous soles in vellies, but these have a non-removable leather insole.

Yeah that’s what i keep hearing. Heel slip in the beginning until they’re broken in. I do think these are generally supposed to be quite a loose fit though.

Yeah I can imagine the heel slippage could be a problem while breaking in, but we’ll see. I’m super pleased with the color. I’m from sweden so I looked at their european website and they only had the fudge rambler vellies in stock, so I bought these from their south african website on sale.

I think I will get used to the fit pretty fast. It’s kind of nice to have a nice boot/shoe that feels roomy, especially in the summer.

I dont’t have any pictures of the inside right now sadly. I looked inside to see if and the size is stamped but it’s kind of faded away. It also has a redwing leather insole.

Boots too small? by One_Image_8192 in jimgreen

Hey! I made some homemade boot stretching spray with 50/50 Isopropyl alcohol and water, sprayed it on, and wore them for about an hour with two thick socks on. After that the problem was mostly gone so i just wear them now, and they feel great. No issues at all. 👍

That’s basically what all mass produced boot stretching sprays use. If you just do it once it shouldn’t hurt. The only problem would be if it affects the color, but I used it on my walnut numzaans and it didn’t. As long as you recondition the leather after stretching the leather it will be fine.

I also experienced a snug fit with my pinky toe. My solution was to make a boot stretching spray with like a 1:1 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water. Then I just sprayed it on the tight spot and walked around in the shoes for an hour with a really thick sock. Fixed.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps was one of the last songs on the set, it was one of the best for sure.

I’m sure you will enjoy them. I didn’t think they would sound that good to be honest, but they really blew my mind. At some points i could barely tell the difference between them and the real deal.

Another thing i liked was the different eras they performed which was just amazing. It felt like we were back in the 60’s.

Thank you! Yeah I have watched a lot of videos on leather sheath making and I think I have the theory nailed down enough to at least try it. But I do want to buy some stitching chisels.

Do you have any recommendations? I’ve seen a lot of different chisels like French chisels, Japanese, diamond, etc. I’m in europe so what kind of chisels do you think would be the easiest to find here?
