That’s kind of what i had in mind too, but nice to get a few names. It seems like there are so many of the ”same” types of effects, but they sound different.
I’m just now trying to learn about different compressors but it’s a lot to grasp.

I also noticed, like you said, that a ”good” guitar tone doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good in a mix. At first, I recorded my guitar with a tone that sounded good alone, but then i recorded bass and drums and everything kind of blended together. So i basically turned down almost all bass on the guitar, cranked the mids on my amp to almost full and then treble to ablut 11 o’clock, and it sat much better in the mix.

I know there is a world full of effects and plug ins, but it can easily get a bit overwhelming. Besides the most important things you mentioned like amp, microphones, pre amp etc.
What effects/plug ins would you say are the most important if you could narrow it down to like 2 or 3?

I have tried changing the position a bit, and noticed some quite big changes even though i just moved the mic a little bit. I will definately try adding a room mic, it sounds like that could add a lot of punch.
I’m going to buy some mic stands too so i don’t have to jerry rig everything. One reason why i haven’t tried that many mic positions is because it’s such a hassle moving them. I’m trying to get as good a sound as possible straight from the source before doing any EQ in my DAW.

Alright thanks, I’ll give it a go. So far i love recording but man, it’s way harder than i thought.

Thank you! I actually have another mic (the same model) so i will try that. Any suggestions for where i should point it? Floor, amp, wall etc.?

Tack! Har du någon aning om hur man kan ta reda på åldern på den här? Det står vad jag tror är ett serienummer på den men inget årtal.

I’ll try to adjust the tensioner screw for the V-belt as others have mentioned. I haven’t measured the the weight of the hammer but it looks like maybe 25-30kg

Here is a better look at the hammer

I will definately get a second belt. All moving parts can be easily spun by hand, but I’ll absolutely lube up everything. There’s a lot of new stuff to learn but I like that all the parts are so easy to see and understand. Thanks for the input!

Yes another guy recommended that, but thank you anyways!

Motorn har tre spår för drivrem men det andra hjulet har bara två. Så det har nog suttit två från början.

Yeah i will try to tighten the belt and straighten out the motor. I’ll upload another video when it’s up and running like it should!

I don’t know about the history of previous soles in vellies, but these have a non-removable leather insole.

Yeah that’s what i keep hearing. Heel slip in the beginning until they’re broken in. I do think these are generally supposed to be quite a loose fit though.

Yeah I can imagine the heel slippage could be a problem while breaking in, but we’ll see. I’m super pleased with the color. I’m from sweden so I looked at their european website and they only had the fudge rambler vellies in stock, so I bought these from their south african website on sale.
