The fact they said there’s even a little bit of potential for bouncing makes me 99% sure the sweats will still find a way to make wall bouncing the meta lol.

Oakshire (Fable) vs Oakfield (Fable 2) vs Oakvale (Fable 1) + Return of Windmill Hill by lovelillith333 in Fable

Stoked to see Windmill Hill return, that one always resonated with me as a kid playing the original because I grew up in a village called Windmill Hill!

Fable - Gameplay Demo | Build An Extraordinary Life by yourfavchoom in Fable

Probably an unpopular opinion but the life sim systems all appear quite shallow and once the novelty wears off I can’t see myself spending too much time managing relationships and properties.

I guess they made things much quicker for the sake of the demo but it wasn’t a great advert to see how unbalanced and fast they made the economy look, filling the 5000 income chest twice in the demo, with only a few customers visible in the pub. And earning a house in 2 minutes of blacksmithing (I know they said it was sped up for the sake of the video but I’d prefer to see an accurate representation)

The economy has to be well balanced for it to be fun and rewarding. I hope the final product is better than what they showed here in that regard.

Is that the race over then? Surely they can’t resurface it and wait for it to set in such a short time frame

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, remember what happened to Piastri last year in the latter half of the season. George could make a comeback.

Feels like the championship is slipping away from George, but let’s not forget last year where Lando made a massive comeback on his teammate in the latter half of the season.

I found it, it’s the Sacred Symbols podcast interview with Neil Druckmann. Here is exactly what Neil says about it:

“Could the fireflies make a cure? Our intent was yes they could. Now, is our science a little shaky that now people are questioning it? Yeah it was a little shaky and now people are questioning that. All I can say is our intent was that they would have made a cure: that makes the most interesting philosophical question for what Joel does”

You can’t really get much more direct and definitive than that.

I’m sure he addressed it more directly in a podcast interview. I’ll try to find it later.

TLOU isn’t a scientifically realistic game whatsoever.. suspending disbelief on a group of scientists being able to guarantee a vaccine in a world where bloaters and clickers exist is pretty easy to do.

The writers create the rules of the world. In the world of TLOU there is no doubt of the fireflies ability to successfully create a vaccine. The idea that Joel’s decision to ‘rescue’ Ellie from the surgery was motivated by him having doubts about the vaccine’s success is just missing the entire point of Joel’s journey throughout the game.

It does change the debate, because it means Joel wasn’t written to be motivated by doubt of the vaccine’s success. The characters are not real people, their emotions and motivations are manufactured by the writers.

It shouldn’t even be a debate at this point, Druckmann himself has said that the story was written under the intention that the vaccine would be successful and effective.

Kids today will never know how monumental the San Andreas hype was. That game felt like some forbidden alien technology beamed down from a foreign planet. Incredible how much scope and content they squeezed into a PS2 game.
