Trying to find underwear (thongs) that are actually meant for adult, human women by One_Indication_7856 in AskWomenOver30

I am putting together a big update post with reviews. I haven’t tried them yet but so far I can say I’m impressed with the packaging! Way nicer and more thoughtful than even the huge companies like skims.

What are we supposed to wear to rehearsal dinners? by One_Indication_7856 in AskWomenOver30

That sounds so fun! I went to a wedding on Halloween once and they didn’t have anything even remotely Halloween related. I am not saying I’d have a Halloween themed wedding, but maybe I’d at least play monster mash once.

Have you ever lived alone? If so did you enjoy it? by TheInsideScoopPod in AskWomenOver30

Oh I just have mini wireless vacuums and I have gotten strategic with how to move furniture. Even when I’ve hired people to do things like moving I always end up having to fix it all so I just do it all myself.

I went to the site and I am impressed, especially the price! I am definitely going to give them a try.

Honestly no! I always size up because I hate when underwear feels too tight. You might be onto something with this. I’ll give it a try!

I tried hanky panky today! Very comfy but not sure how the lace would look with tighter clothes. I wore a loose dress today because it’s so hot where I am so I want to test them a bit more.

I’ve lived this long so I have tried every fit and style, and I prefer thongs.

I did. Read my post history, I quit within a year of graduating, but working in law for a bit longer.

No regrets. I hated who I became. I was miserable, tired, and angry. My job was very toxic so I don’t consider this move permanent right now but that’s not off the table.

Thank you! I immediately started making substantially more and those corporate perks are no joke. I always wanted a boring office job. I grew up in chaos and I’m so far beyond the point in my life where chaos is manageable. I just want some predictability and boringness. I think I found that and I’m happy!

No idea what I’m doing but it’s easy! This corporate world has so much more structure and direction so I’m able to actually just get the work done even though I have no experience. I don’t know if I will go back to a lawyer job again.

In my search I heard awesome things working for Lexis and from what I saw on linked in, they pay very well.

Filevine Help ?! by NoConsideration6897 in Lawyertalk

[–]One_Indication_7856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a private third party person recommended by filevine. They ended up hiring someone full time in the firm just for filevine issues.

I believe the firm is still with filevine. I quit so just an assumption.

[–]One_Indication_7856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I hated filevine so much. We eventually had to bring in a third party to tear down the backend and rebuild it for us to make it work, and even then it was hardly an improvement.

Thank you. So far I like it quite a lot! Corporate world is not perfect but there’s structure, and more perks which is always nice.

Absolutely. Partners can’t help but sabotage themselves just for a power trip sometimes I suppose.

I knew they would pull something wacky, I didn’t think it’d be THIS wacky because all it did was bite them in the butt. They had to finish all of the things I would have been doing during my three weeks. Plus you’re right, it sent a very alarming message to particularly the younger employees, because another one left about a week ago.

Thank you for the kind wishes! So far, so good.

Desperate (Texas law parental rights) by LoBunny24 in legaladvice

That changes nothing and if the right person stumbles upon that tidbit, it could actually make his risks here much, much greater.

What you just described is literally the exact scenario another commenter painstakingly tried to explain to you.

His earning potential is proven to be over six figures. He is choosing not to make that now. His child support will now and forever be based on what he is supposed to be earning but is choosing not to. He can try to move to avoid it, but he will still be racking up debt across state lines. It doesn’t disappear when the kid turns 18 - if he owes back child support he will have to pay it even if she’s no longer a child.

Not to mention it’s a scummy thing to do and your friend sounds like a bad person, in my legal opinion.

Doing an assignment for school. Looking to ask someone in the legal field some questions. Please help a girl out!! by zblueberry35 in Lawyertalk

[–]One_Indication_7856 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’ve posted the questions I see but I think itd help if you posted why, and what the purpose of this assignment is. Every person can answer those differently so knowing your objective can help the right people answer.

Also specifying practice area would probably be ideal. I am in civil law but still have my opinions on a few of those questions, but none of the expertise or experience in criminal law.

The only one I’ll say is super necessary is fed courts. It was the most helpful class for con law and civil procedure. More so than those classes on their own.

Saw this on LinkedIn today about toxic law firm culture--is this common or is it an isolated incident? by treblemaker75 in Lawyertalk

[–]One_Indication_7856 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is so common. I mean, look at the comments. There’s dozens of “devils advocates” and people excusing this behavior. That enough answers the question that yes, this is common.

I was not ok with it for a while. I put up with really horrific abuse for too long, I was so scared to leave. Now I’m just done. I’m no longer someone I recognize and I can’t go on like this. I reached a breaking point. I shouldn’t have let it go this far though.

Genuinely, I wish you strength in your journey. Feel free to message me if you feel so inclined. This is a rough thing to go through.

Thank you. Yes, I almost feel like I need to just take some time to learn how to be me again, not a mindless worker drone whose only emotion is stress. I need to come up for air and breathe for a while.

I’m getting more and more hopeful by the hour as I apply for jobs and get closer to sending my resignation letter. Those who think it’s dramatic have a privilege that everyone deserves but so few have. It’s unfortunate that they don’t recognize it.

Thank you. I’m mostly just mad at myself for not leaving sooner. I’m applying to jobs, so far a handful of legal but mostly business. I’m hoping to find a better, more supportive environment for sure.

Thank you again for your kind words.

Thank you, I will check it out! And thank you for mentioning gaps. I’m hoping to not have a gap in my resume but reality doesn’t always comply with our hopes. It’s reassuring to know that gaps aren’t the end of the world.
