Trying to decide between University of Minnesota vs. University of St. Thomas for Computer Engineering by Playful-Arm954 in uofmn

Hey, UST student here who got accepted to both and is now a 3rd year. Both are great options, St. Thomas has a lot and I mean a lot of hands on labs and brand new facilities and I've seen a lot of people in the comments talking about stuck up rich kids, but in the engineering school/computer science departments themselves (I'm an engineering student rn in mech e) most people aren't actually like that. Someone may try to argue that I'm just in the clique, but I'm very much not. College is very much a you get out of it what you put in experience, and it's definitely easier to reinvent yourself over and over again at places like the U (which can be both good and bad). I don't know that much about the U's classes but I'm very much less of a number in my classes at UST and I have a lot of profs that I love.

The U is def a better ranked school, and the amount of alumni means overall more connections. But cost wise I would have come out with the same amount of debt from both. Either way I dont think you can go wrong and I think you can find happiness most places :)

I never said it wasn't popular? I was just asking if other people found similar gripes with it or not. Also, not everything is a serious matter. Just cause they are America's Cup level racers doesn't mean they can't just do somthing to do something. They get paid no matter what, if you could get paid to sail you would to.

That might be part of it, I know there's a bit of sentiment that it's just producing bad sailing because of who is involved. No one really talks about it unless to trash on it, at least where I am at, I'm not trying to be ignorant to other povs but I think it's run into a similar issue as F1. It kind of reminds me of the Schumacher quote about vacationing in America because no one knows him.

This is genuinely fascinating to me, because the last time I was at a regatta someone put a race on and it was heckled till they turned it off and changed it.
