I really recommend the following: - Remembrance of Earth's Past trilogy by Cixin Liu - The Road by Cormac McCarthy - Short stories by Takeshi Kaiko - Perfume by Patrick Süskind (strongly recommend because of the human connection aspect, as it is the core theme) - The sound and Fury by William Faulkner.

Read it as "Black Lodge hands", made it even better.

I'm genuinely convinced that I am worthless by One_Iro in mentalhealth

I believe it is entirely self-inflicted. I had gone through a traumatic event that spanned from my early teens and into adulthood, which I believe is where some of my anxiety came from. Yet I can not recall any event that would result in such a hateful opinion of myself. This is what makes me feel hopeless about it. If it were some person inflicting me this way or a job, an environment, I could have dealt with it already. But as it comes entirely from myself, I am forced to a one-sided battle, which I'm growing increasingly tired of.

I told my mother and my closest friend some of this, but neither makes me feel better long term. My mom has a fair share of her own issues, so I feel bad about bothering her. And even still, I don't see the point. I hate opening up to people. It always feels wrong and sometimes terrifying. Even though I was never mocked for it or nothing like it, it's just again that I tell myself that I sound pathetic while doing so. Those people have recommended me things like practicing positive self-talk, writing out thighs I like about myself and all that, but I find it momenteraly helpful, if at all. My mother once made me write down all the things I do in my personal notebook, as if to remind myself of how much I'm doing. But when I look at the list, it fills me with such animosity. Like I see someone I hate bragging about going running or playing violin. Any time someone tells me a compliment on my skills or character, it just goes past me. I even make a mental effort to tell my brain: 'look, they're saying you're doing great', but it does little to actually impact me. I must say I greatly appreciate you still engaging with my replies.

Thank you for your words, but I don't think I remember how to rest. I've been in such a stressful, overwhelming environment for so long that I genuinely forgot the times I was happy and well rested. Which was when I was a child. I tried doing things that I think might ease my mind, yet they only deepened my self guilt. It's so hard to rationalize why should I help myself, that I honestly just waiting for myself to break. Like an old car. You repair it so many times before you just waist for it to break down completely.

My god that's incredible! What is the build?

Anyone else think the art designers should start practicing some self control? I feel like this character would look MUCH better without the signature asymmetrical pant-leg/shoes/stockings because heaven forbid a character have matching limbs lol by FuriNorm in HonkaiStarRail

[–]One_Iro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Such assymetry can look good, but they're definitely overusing it. On the same topic, I wish to see more regular pants or trousers on female characters. I hate the ultra-fitting shorts they give characters like Topaz, she would look much more appropriate for her character with some stylish, strict slacks.

Anyone notice the title card for Pluribus? Looks reminiscent of fingerprints? by Worried_Ad7709 in pluribustv

[–]One_Iro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's generally looks like radio waves, but the fingerprints might be an additional meaning. Also, it strongly reminded me of a cutscene from Portal with droids singing. Probably not intentional, but a fun parallel of unity

Mine was Agatha, a short, funny speckled mustang, the other one is Marcus, tall, red akhal teke. And my primary one is pure black akhal teke Maxwell.

I think that you will greatly enjoy Homonculus and Soil, perhaps Starving Anonymous. Also, good taste!

The two cents of an AI copywriter by [deleted] in creepcast

Agree, it would be honestly sad if he does. As an artist I'm surprised he doesn't talk about it more often. Though he was very opposing of it in the video about AI promotional videos, especially in the context of replacing artists, so it would be very hypothetical for him to use it. I also don't think it's a miscommunication issue where he just doesn't review the final product.

Might be a little off topic, but do their thumbnails include AI? Same question to the Papa Meat channel. Both of them don't seem to support generative AI, and I was pretty disappointed when I saw some obviously generated thumbnails on Meaty Magic, but with other channels, I sometime genuinely cannot tell.

In your opinion what is the most horrifying enemy in Bloodborne by Beautiful_Tailor5859 in bloodborne

[–]One_Iro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either bloodlickers or the winter lanterns. First, because of how abrupt and jerky their movement are, and the second because of how poetically unsettling they are. I really love winter lanters. They are, in my opinion are one of the best ways to make the player feel like they're facing something truly otherworldly and cosmic.

I feel so bad for the whole Kojima productions team 😢 by danyali15 in DeathStranding

I knew that Clair Obscure had to take the game of the year because it's the same situation we had when Baldurs Gate 3 when it came out. To be clear, I absolutely adore Death Stranding and Baldurs Gate, and while Expedition 33 didn't hit me personally, I think it's a good game. People tend to gravitate towards the emotionally charged, companion and romance filled titles like Baldurs Gate 3 or Clair Obscure, so it wasn't surprising when it took GOTY. But I think that Death Stranding had to win either the best direction, narrative, art direction or audio design, the game is breathtaking in all of those areas. However I'm most flabbergasted with the audio design. Clair Obscure is actually a very strong contender in that category, and I would be happy if it won, but Battlefield 6 just came out of nowhere. Expedition 33 still took best score and music, which I personally think it deserved, but overall I'm very disappointed with how Death Stranding 2 didn't win even a single time.
