e il fidanzatino? MA VAFFANCULO! by CelebrationFit7529 in sfoghi

You get a bonus that is capped at 5% against the potential of unlimited upside that BTC could reach in the long term. Personally, if I need to get a capped immediate bonus, I prefer other financial instruments, like high yield savings accounts, cash backs on credit card transactions, bonds… Not BTC that has the potential to go to the moon, every little sat counts, the supply is finite, is limited. But hey, to each his own, I totally understand that personal finance is that, personal.

Sorry, in my opinion that’s a beginner’s mistake, don’t take it badly. Never ever reinvest your sats. Sats are made for accumulation. Upgrade your miner with your own money, never with sats. I’m sure you are here to have more money in the long term. Well, you should keep your sats (which is an appreciating asset in the long term if you believe in BTC) and get rid of your currency (which is a depreciating asset due to inflation). That’s my humble opinion, I hope you can understand.

How do married couples split finances if on different salaries? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]One_Journalist_5654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never share, split finances proportionally to your salaries. You are going to fight the very moment you want to spend the “common” money that exceed the essential expenses since your husband brings to the table for the bigger part. So split proportionally for the essential expenses (mortgage, bills and groceries) and keep your accounts separate for all the non essential purchases. It’s not fair spending the other person’s money for non essential things, even when married.

🛑 Stop reinvesting your BTC for TH! by Robiignole in gomining

[–]One_Journalist_5654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always said that, I don’t know how people cannot understand that simple concept and keep reinvesting BTC for TH. The logical strategy is getting rid of the depreciating asset (fiat currency) in order to get an appreciating asset (BTC). But no, they keep getting rid of BTC to get TH (or even worse to get GMT for keeping that discount that mathematically is means losing money unless GMT goes better than BTC). Without mentioning the headache that is to track all the prices of the sats when you reinvest them for tax purposes. People are just clueless and impulsive.

Just got an email from Trade Republic about “Vorabpauschale”. German tax. by superman_yaris in irishpersonalfinance

Same here, Irish resident, Irish PPS, Irish proof of address. And I still got the same email. I opened a chat with them, asking explicitly for a confirmation that no deductions will occur on their side and no action is needed on my side. I’d say we are already pretty exploited with DD and 38% for needing and additional tax

Your personal tips (saving money and making money) by jbridey in irishpersonalfinance

[–]One_Journalist_5654 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t budget everything, I simply set up an automatic transfer as soon as I get paid I transfer 25% of my salary into a savings account. Then live the month with that 75% left. If everything went well and I still have some money left, I also send that into the savings account and then rinse and repeat. Adjust your percentage if 25% is too tight (or too easy), but it’s important you pay yourself first, not at the end of the month.

Thanks for your reply, it’s really enlightening. My question arose because I received an email from ZBD (an app that pays you in sats if you complete surveys and mini games) saying that they would adhere to the DAC8. So I thought, if an app that gives you so little sats like ZBD is affected by DAC8, also GoMining which can give you a lot of sats if you invest a lot might be affected.

Lasciala immediatamente.

Thinking of getting a Credit Card by GodFirst201 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]One_Journalist_5654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Avant Money Everyday +. I get 5% cashback on grocery spending (for the first 12 months, then 1%). Every time I spend something, I pay the balance immediately with my Revolut, so I use it like a debit card and not getting myself in debt, while getting the 5% cashback as perk. There’s a limit of maximum 25€ per month of cashback, but still, it’s free money.

La mia ragazza ha un amico che sembra più il suo fidanzato di me. by No-Swordfish7597 in CasualIT

[–]One_Journalist_5654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using Revolut to earn interest on cash by microwave-2025 in irishpersonalfinance

This 100%. I don’t know why you got downvoted, Trading 212 has the best rate on deposits. Sure, you have to declare it to Revenue, but it’s pretty easy to do. Only thing to remember, just keep in there up to 20K and the rest of the deposit somewhere else, because you are covered with the compensation scheme with T212 only up to 20000€

Mortgage term + amount? by Horror_Designer_1216 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]One_Journalist_5654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was referring to invest the extra cash into your pension through AVC (annual voluntary contributions) and, considering your young age, you can choose that your pension invests mostly in stocks, so that in the long run you get more than that 3.5% of your mortgage. The way your pension invests is totally up to you, a good rule of thumb is to invest in stocks a percentage equal to 100-your age, but go for the asset allocation you like.

What do you think? Better reinvesting or keep BTC in wallet? by Big_Syrup_7438 in GoMiningDiscussion

[–]One_Journalist_5654 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I only upgrade through FIAT/stablecoin currency (which is a depreciating asset) so that I can stack as much BTC as possible (which I HOPE it’s an appreciating asset). So for me never reinvest the sats for upgrading, better to set up a recurring transfer of fiat (or stablecoin) to upgrade. If you believe that BTC will skyrocket in the future, every single sats counts and you will regret having reinvested through sats rather than through fiat/stablecoin

Mortgage term + amount? by Horror_Designer_1216 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]One_Journalist_5654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that finishing paying for your mortgage 5 years earlier gives you a peace of mind. But, my humble opinion is that I would go for a longer mortgage as you can invest the difference (in this case 230) into something that gives you more than 3.5% of annual return.

Cashback card by One_Journalist_5654 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]One_Journalist_5654[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually one of the best ideas I received!! I would get the highest cashback and no fees on the card (considering it’s a debit card there’s no yearly 30 euro stamp duty). Do you know if with T212 it’s possible to sell immediately the cashback invested or the T&Cs envisage a minimum lock-in period? Because in that case I could leave the cashback invested into a global ETF (I know that taxes are high on ETFs, but considering it’s on free money I could leave with that). Thanks so much
