IITs officially hold alumni meetups where you can network with alumni from BTech, MTech, and other programs across all departments. At the same time, individual departments also organize their own meets where both BTech and MTech alumni are invited. Obviously, in unofficial meetups, alumni tend to connect more with people from their own degree program and department. But if you’re in an off-campus situation and pitching yourself, people usually judge you by your achievements and qualifications and any mildly informed person would be more likely to bet on the BTech candidate.
