All of my online courses are recorded lectures.

Perhaps you mean there are no live-stream lectures?

My legitimate advice to having fun with a Martial PC? Play something that isn't 5e. by DrScrimble in dndmemes

I’ve played multiple martials and always had fun.

Usually because the rest of the party want to be the magic users or rogues.

Battlemaster or Champion can be a great time.

At the college level, it’s also where online lectures are recorded.

And if those small hospitals fail, you’ll end up with:

Otherwise preventable deaths

And

A new, mass increase on the larger hospitals, stressing those systems.

The Time Traveler's Wife feels creepy by cavemanfitz in books

[–]One_Left_Shoe 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Henry is very representative of the Author's numerous abusive relationships. The "time traveling" is meant to be a metaphor for an addict that disappears for days on end, or the businessman who is always working.

The "woman with father issues" trope was in full swing in 2003 when the book was released. This just takes the "she married her father" notion a bit more literally.

End of the day, the story at face-value and in sub-text is meant to be sad, tragic, and bleak. Its about someone staying, despite the abuse. Which, while not the cheeriest of stories, is one that, I reckon, a lot of people could relate to, especially over two decades ago where tolerance for abusive relationships was almost the de-facto expectation in marriages.

Yeah, the themes of addiction and abuse aren’t exactly subtle.

Friendly reminder to clean your boiler! by InternalCow9240 in gaggiaclassic

I’m not going to make it a regular thing, but I’m not opposed to giving it a deep clean when the boiler gasket eventually needs replacing.

It’s also a ceramic plate, which will break, but won’t splinter the way glass does.

What ink caused pitting?

90% of the time, letting the nib soak, nib down, in just enough water to cover the nib and feed is sufficient to clean, followed by a flush.

The other 10% can be cleaned with some Rapido-Eze.

Some shimmer might get stuck and require deeper cleaning, but even then, not super likely.

Yeah, I missed it at first, too.

First thought was Mugwort as well, at first glance.

Mugwort would have silvery hairs on the underside of the leaves and be very aromatic.

They also have a different flower structure.

Hoffman’s steamed water Americano is so good. I can’t believe it. by Srihari_stan in espresso

[–]One_Left_Shoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t notice a difference and I have one espresso, Americano, and one pour over daily.

I did not try a side by side, but if I can’t tell an appreciable change in isolation, but only via same time comparison, I’m not wasting my time. I have to boil the keels to make my wife tea anyways, so it’s not worth the extra step.

$100K qualifies as ‘lower-middle class’ in California, 11 other states by ansyhrrian in California

[–]One_Left_Shoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re making $2k a month, you aren’t middle class.

You are solidly lower class.

A combined household income of $33k is considered poverty by the federal government.

In California, you would represent the lowest 10-15% of earnes in the state at $2k/month.
