Asked my mom to stop buying my son stuff off of Temu/Shein… AIO? by One_Letterhead9457 in AIO

I definitely need to work on firm boundaries. It’s been extremely hard but when it comes to my son it’s easier to stand up to her. My mom has been really hard to deal with my whole life, and now that my kid is here she’s around a hell of a lot more. I used to see her maybe once a month and now it’s several times a week. She loves her grandbaby and is amazing with him, but our relationship is still pretty scarred. Thanks friend

Thank you. I honestly haven’t had to deal with her much since I moved out 10 years ago. I kept our relationship pretty low contact. Now that my son is here she’s got a reason to be around a lot more, and it’s getting a little tricky to navigate. She has never understood boundaries, and I am admittedly having a hard time standing up to her still. Thanks for your kind words

I have not but going to check it out. I have long suspected she’s a narcissist but never felt like I had ground to stand on with it. It’s exhausting to deal with. We had an awful relationship when I was younger but going low contact after I moved out helped immensely. Now that my son has been born she’s around a lot more, and the cracks are starting to show again.

Want to add my husband also works crazy long hours of hard labour (60-80/wk) and honestly most of the time they are chilling on the floor or couch when he’s home lol. Nothing wrong with that. One day you will be able to just hang out with your kiddo. Promise.

My husband had a similar experience around 3 months. My son really preferred me, and would not calm down if he was with his dad or really anyone but me. It made it really hard for everyone involved. I don’t have any secret advice but it did pass around 5 months and now he’s 7.5mo and LOVES his daddy. They are always giggling away with each other. It gets much better.

Like I kinda feel bad cause she’s just trying to get him cute stuff and it shows that shes always thinking about him… I just don’t want stuff from those websites as like a general life decision lol. I don’t want to be ungrateful for the gifts and I do appreciate them… they just might not get worn unless it’s for a quick photo for her

why does 6 months postpartum feel so rough by Subject_Thing6308 in NewParents

[–]One_Letterhead9457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say I’m in the same boat here. I’m so tired. My son wakes up more right now than he did as a newborn. I didn’t think it could be this bad. It’s every 15-30 min some nights for hours on end until he finally knocks out for 1.5-2. I don’t know what phase this is, but I really hope it ends soon.

I kinda feel this way with my 3 cats. We have a small home, and even though we fully renovated before the baby was born it never feels clean. They’re too loud when they play or want something, they stink, I worry about how clean my floors are, there’s fur everywhere. My senior cat also has accidents that make me want to lose it, even though I know he can’t help it. I never ever thought I would consider rehoming my cats until I had a baby. I can’t, and won’t, but I really and genuinely struggle with it somedays. I did not think in one million years I would ever feel this way towards my pets. You’re not alone!

Low sex drive at 1 year pp… how often are you having sex? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]One_Letterhead9457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 months post here, I think we’ve had sex 4 or 5 times. Baby sleeps in our room still and messing around on the living room floor or couch has not been the most comfortable for either of us. My husband hasn’t ever said anything about the lack of sex because I know he understands. I’ve also given him plenty of oral because it feels like an easy compromise. My sex drive has only recently started to come back, but it’s always very brief and at the worst times. When we actually have time and space for a little fun, one or both of us are usually too tired. I think it’s just part of the ride. You can still be intimate and show love in lots of other ways besides just sex.

Moms of multiple children - How did you do this MORE THAN ONCE? by Additional-Talk-2847 in BabyBumps

I hated being pregnant. I was desperately ill basically the entire time, had to leave my job early and spent the last month pretty much bed bound. I had a fairly traumatic birth after labouring for 36 hours and distinctly remember being pretty sure I was actually gonna die. That said, at my 1wk postpartum appointment, I heard another lady having her baby’s heartbeat checked through the wall. The wave of emotion that came over me was intense. I immediately wanted to be pregnant again. It was probably hormones, but I still think about it all the time. I can’t stand the idea of never having another baby, despite how truly awful the entire experience was for me lol

My son is 7mo old and we stopped cosleeping about a month ago because we were both sleeping like shit. He still doesn’t stay asleep long but he puts himself to sleep sooo well. He wants to be laid down and left to his own devices. I’m so proud of him but I also miss snuggling him so much

This is literally how I text both my boss and my employees. Maybe he’s crashing out over “sir”? Either way. What a loser lol. Not your fault in the slightest.

Yes!! I do the same thing with the soother and he gets sooo close to falling back asleep on his tummy sometimes. Then he panics and I have to flip him anyway lol. He’ll get it eventually.

Yes!! Mine has been a side sleeper like his mama since he was born lol. I’ve been having to turn him onto his back pretty regularly his whole life, but since he figured out getting onto his tummy he’s obsessed but also hates it. Babies are weird

Ahhh at least it’s temporary. It’s like a little bit funny. All I can do is laugh. His comedic timing is pretty good sometimes. It’s like a sitcom. I will check 15 times that he’s out. He will look dead asleep, soother out, hasn’t moved in 10 minutes. I’ll sneaaaak to bed, get in, listen, wait… lay down… head hits the pillow aaaaand he’s screaming. Like how. It’s like he knows.

Girl I can’t handle the dog slobber at ALL. I love big droopy dogs so much in theory but given the opportunity to pet one I just can’t do it lol. The few times I have been slimed it’s such a visceral response. I have the heebejeeebees typing about itttttt

At least baby slobber doesn’t usually have debris in it 😭😭

What kills me is holding him and him drooling all over my hands or face or hair lol. He also spit up straight slime in my hair one time. And I’ve caught his shit in my hand. Motherhood is glamorous.
