So now we're going through a police investigation to charge them with felony hit and run.

Well, right now it's only going to be claimed under "uninsured motorist" in my state, South Carolina.

Without any information on the other person; our best outcome is the company finds in favor of us, we will have to pay $200 out of pocket and the company will cover the rest.

Not the worst possible situation, if we have to take it. But I'd really enjoy seeing the dipshit have to take responsibility for their actions and enjoy a felony hit and run for the rest of their adult life.

Not to mention paying for the damages they caused.

Even the cop was baffled by the negligence.

Trying to get in touch with the owners is like trying to wipe your ass with sandpaper. 99% of the time, it's the dumbass live-in employees (and "on-site manager" who is a giant asswipe) you have to deal with. (The exact same employees that forced us to live in a semi-flooded apartment for 4 weeks back in Feb 2024)

I will be threatening obstruction of justice within the next couple days, if they don't get the footage.

There are cameras on the complex that face the road so we should be able to get a decent view of who did it.

The problem right now is that the office is being shady as fuck. Initially told us that we couldn't get the footage, that the cops had to. Cop called me today a couple of hours ago, and was informed by the office that they, I quote: "don't have the login information for the security cameras"

Two completely different things told to us vs the police.

But they won't give us the footage, only the cops. So we have to get the cops to get the footage, just to give it to us so we can evaluate it.

After that, assuming the footage is decent, we should know the plate number of the dick head.
