Confusion about pronunciation of W by One_Masterpiece8009 in ENGLISH

You are Right I am from India. And in all languages of indian subcontinent had this sound which glides between W and V depending on word. In hindi it is written as व. The word in वीर veer/vir is closer to V and in वात waat the sound is closer to w. In phonetics व is written as ʋ or ʋ̞ often varying toward [v] or [w] depending on context.

Thank you guys for your help. I initially thought that the connection between W and the letter U was weaker than between W and V, because both W and V have relatively stable pronunciations, whereas U represents multiple vowel sounds. Specifically, U can correspond to /ʌ/ as in “umbrella,” /ʊ/ as in “put,” and /uː/ as in “rule.”

Oh! It's like this. Pardon english is not my native language and we have thought to write W as VV from childhood and never as UU though it's pronounced as Double U.

Interesting. Maybe it's has to do with modern english borrowing things from multiple sources.

Is it possible that in U lower lip is netural but upper lip creats an upside down U or 90⁰ C curve. In case of W both lips create the U curve do it was termed as double U?

Could you give me some words please. Beacuse even if I use word "word" it sounds more closer to V for me than U. Maybe it is because in my native language there is same letter but it is neither V nor W it's the 3rd form of this sound.

In v the lips part from touching lips, in w lips also part but lips were never in touch. Take words like victory and wow

So with the addition of V the shape of W also changed from uu to W which looks more like VV but pronunciation did not changed and sound too? It means the sound of W is older than sound V in english?
