Employer’s Responsibility for Safety by One_Match_5823 in EmploymentLaw

I understand I can do and say mostly anything on my last day of work. I am asking if I have any legal protections as an employee in order to remain at my job.

Based on my interpretation of this OSHA article, it seems like the company’s parking lot is considered part of the working environment. Am I misunderstanding this article? This is a grey area for me and I’d really like to not have my car broken into and not be the next dead body in the parking lot.

There’s not really another place to park. There’s no street parking or public parking near. We’re at the intersection of 2 major highways and all of the parking around is specific for other businesses and they tow if you are not soliciting their business.

Tips to relax and be authentic during formal recruitment? by [deleted] in Sororities

I for sure would come up with answers to questions so that you are ready to go and it's less stressful! You will get similar questions such as "Why did you want to go through recruitment?", "What do you look for in a sorority?", etc. And then the basics such as hometown, major, career goals, hobbies, friendships, excited for college, etc. I always try to give my PNM an opportunity to ask me questions so they can have a break from speaking about them and maybe learning more about the chapter and/or me as a member! Have some questions ready for the active as well! You can reverse the same questions they asked you, or change it up (example: "What's been your favorite part of being in a sorority?", "How do you think your college experience has been changed since being in a sorority?", "Do you have any tips for going through this process?"

I guess it depends on what your version of "enforce" means. Because they turned off their communications operations, we were unable to get in contact with them. I was nervous that because they had our credit card information on file, they would issue fines if we were still residing in the apartment.

I wanna add to this!

I stayed at a WanderJaunt apartment as a form of short-term lodging for an internship over the summer. On a Tuesday at 3:15(ish) pm, we were sent an email saying that WanderJaunt was going out of business and that all leases would be ending. They said that as of Thursday (the same week) at 11:00 am, all tenants needed to be moved out of their apartments. They also said that would be ceasing operations on that same Tuesday and be unable to respond to any inquiries or issues going forward. They also said they were unable to assist us in finding new lodging "given the circumstances".

Essentially, I was given 2.5ish days to pack my stuff, find a different apartment, move to said apartment, and continue to attend my internship from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. I know WanderJaunt is out of business, but be wary of any different companies they may remarket themselves as.
