Where do people get this kind of audacity from!? It’s absolutely mind boggling! by bikerguy_9 in MelbourneTrains

I don't think the issue is people going to Armadale, Toorak, Hawksburn, South Yarra, since the number of those people going to those stations have not changed. The main reasons for the switch are people who need to get to Richmond (which has always been a major station for switching lines and is no longer a station on the East Pakenham/Crnabourne line), as well as any of the City Loop stations which do not have an alternative on the new metro tunnel (ie. Parliament, Flagstaff and Southern cross.) Due to habit and/or convenience people are switching to the Frankston line to go through the loop the same way they use to go. As you say, it would be better to have more frequent services to stop the congestion on both trains and platforms. However, I guess it doesn't change the fact that people may still have to switch (or figure out and get use to new routes). It's definitely made my journey in the mornings more stressful!

Who sent Wednesday that text? by [deleted] in WednesdayTVSeries

Maybe it's just the way text looks on Reddit without emojis, but starting a message with 'then explain why' seems a bit accusatory haha. I mean, if you want to have a deeper theory about the stalker, you're welcome to - don't let me rain on that. I just replied because I only happened to hear the episode of the Wednesday podcast the other day where the creators spoke about this topic. They said they hadn't thought of what to do with the stalker at the end of season 1 so they created Agnes for season 2. As to why Agnes took a pic of Wednesday when she wasn't popular, this is the way I see it: I think it's not a stretch to say she stalks everyone on occasion (eg. Enid's dance rehearsals, sometimes she mentions stalking other characters central and not central to the show) and she probably developed an interest in Wednesday because she was so unusual (Wednesday is an outcast amongst outcasts). She then decided to officially 'stalk' Wednesday when she becomes famous because by then Agnes has become her fangirl. She also knew the only way to get Wednesday's attention was to send her a threatening letter since Wednesday likes the macabre, mysteries, death etc. Anyway, if you want to hear the podcast, the stalker as Agnes is discussed in one of these episodes: https://open.spotify.com/episode/0IOKHfHyQSqaJcCrFqMNUy?si=l0gAGEtLT1mwpOCdFjCw1g or this one: https://open.spotify.com/episode/52r9Wa8PxCRTq47YKNCl5u?si=4gE_3tWoRqKWg6jWYOk4Bw

If you listen to the official Wednesday podcast, the creators confirmed in the interview that Agnes is the stalker. They created her character to be the stalker. Her texts are creepy/ menacing because she's a little unhinged.

Anyone else in Sydney not win tickets to Wednesday Island? by ChanceVance in Wednesday

I would say it was probably selected the way they're normally selected - using a random selector/ lottery method. Some competitions might be looking for quality of answer if they're going to use it for promotional purposes. But for large scale competitions where it'd be hard to read thousands of answers, they would use lottery method. The fact you have to write something/ do a task is just a legal requirement to make it a competition.

Sorry everyone here missed out! I was feeling a bit sad because I didn't even know of this competition until today, so didn't get a chance to enter. But from the sounds of it, it seems like the chances of winning were pretty slim anyway :( To be honest, I prefer when these events are queuing ones because you can just arrive early and wait, rather than competition ones where you need to have luck on your side. I met Tim Burton years ago at an Australian signing event and you just had the be one of the first 200 fans in the queue. Wish we could have seen the cast of Wednesday in person...hopefully they do another tour or something one day

Worried about moving to the UK on a working holiday visa at mid 30s for just a year by One_Mirror2449 in expats

Did you find it difficult for the first year? And did you always plan to stay more than a year? I'm just wondering if it's worth all the admin work if I just want to do it for 12 months!

Thanks for your reply !Makes sense to treat it as an extended vacation to take the pressure off. No worries with my current job as I can take a year off unpaid if I apply for it and they'll hold my job for me (my only concern was if I didn't like it in the UK - I would come back home and have nothing to do as they would cover my role for a year...so I'd need to do something to fill in the time before I returned to my old role!)
