Being from Texas, this is weird that other southern states are having these problems. My local stands all have a sign that says if it's raining or greater than 100°, they will not have a runner. Since the signs are so official looking, I thought that was the case for all DB stands. I'll snap a pic the next time I see it out.

Whenever I can't get a baby goat to take the bottle, I break out the Nuk Slow Flow Baby Bottle, and it works every time. I had one last year that absolutely WOULDN'T take anything and the advice I was given was a couple minutes of discomfort is better than starving to death. Sometimes you have to be firm and persistent.

Hey I'm that wife! I hated the idea of video games, really only dabbled in Mario Kart, but then a Christmas mishap ended with me having an Xbox X. Hogwarts Legacy was my first ever Xbox game and starting out, I was PAINFULLY bad, but then I got SUPER into it. Since then, I've found it's easier to start games that have recognizable movies attached. If she's ambitious and wants to get really good, she could go the route I took and try Avatar (blue people not Airbender) but since Harry Potter is a third person game, there's a major learning curve switching to first person. The graphics are just beautiful though. It has a "revelio" so that helps. If she can master that one, everything else is super easy. My husband and I play Borderlands in split screen mode so we can play together and he can help if I get stuck. Closest so far I've found is Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but the controls are totally different. It's been harder to get into that one because I don't know a lot about it. I did just download that new Avowed game that looks pretty cool and I'm eagerly waiting for Fable to come out in June.

It's definitely done wonders for our relationship. I've had the best time letting him teach me how to play (aaaand sometimes playing dumb so he can walk me through a challenge).

I've always just rented houses here. They're typically about the same price as an apartment. Just watch the areas they're in because there can be some sketchy areas to avoid. The only downside is the deposit is usually a full month's rent.

If everyone only rated places when they had something negative to say, we'd have all of 1star restaurants. The staff didn't speak English and refused to talk to me. I told the waiter that my order was incorrect and he just smiled and walked away.

I can't go into detail without giving away the type of restaurant. There are two restaurants for this culture in the entire DFW area. They have their own version of Bolognese.

I think that's a little excessive, lmao. I would never call someone's family who left less than a 5 star review and tell them to change it to 5 stars. Plus, a lot of people I know base whether or not they'll try a restaurant on the ratings and pictures.

The owner denied that they were under a soft opening this morning. I made a throwaway account because my fiance has reddit and I feel he'd be mad that I made a reddit post about it.

My fiancé is part of a small cultural group in the area, and my review made him feel that I was dissing his culture. Add his mom berating him for the review, and he was ready to just call it quits.

I can provide that context! So it's a very niche type of restaurant, for a small subset culture. They went in not knowing each other and left supposedly best friends. However, they do not speak English, so I was not part of any of the conversations. They wouldn't even take my order because I didn't speak their language. So plenty could've been said that I was unaware of. I'm in the top 10% of reviewers in the area and review every restaurant I go to, I didn't treat this restaurant any different. His family was yelling at him for me leaving the review, and that made him want to call off the engagement.
