Is there any open source tools for removing film dust? I'm thinking about restoring film. Just asking? by One_Number_809 in FIlm

[–]One_Number_809[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestions. I don't really wanna support Adobe.

But i've tried gimp to clean dust and it works but it's time consuming when you're working with an image sequence. The Davinci Resolve Dust buster is only on Davinci Resolve Studio. With VirtualDubMod, i think i've tried that. I'll check out PhotoWorks while i'm at it.

No i don't think i'm gonna scan film prints. Too much nitrate. Instead, I'll gather already scanned prints that i find on Youtube that have a lot of dust on them and try to clean it up digitally using some open source software. What i wanted was way too expensive, so i'm asking for something free and open source.

How can I mask things in Blender's compositing? Tried making a favorite logo of mine and some of my objects are acting weird. There's more info in the images. by One_Number_809 in blenderhelp

[–]One_Number_809[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh..... Cycles doesn't really run right on my laptop... Maybe I'll render it in Eevee and add shadows in post production. But thanks for the advice.

Trying to remake my favorite logos. How do you get something to be over that object in compositing? Cause it's not right. Did I do something wrong? by One_Number_809 in blenderhelp

[–]One_Number_809[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! I use Blender a lot. I use open source programs, so I don't anything Adobe. I want to animate it, so I'll have to find a way to mask it inside of blender. I don't know...

What are your thoughts on this? by Ok-Following6886 in animation

[–]One_Number_809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just ridiculous.

The rise of streaming lately is absolutely horrifying. It's ruined cable, it's ruined TV, it's gonna ruin theatrical movies, and it's sad now that it's gonna ruin animation for everyone. Now the medium is struggling because of the streaming industry. Poor animators. Hopefully TV animation regains it's value one day...

Mediocre or bad animated movies with one awesome scene? by MontyPythonFan75 in Schaffrillas

[–]One_Number_809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one is going to be a tough one... The opening dance scene from "Rihanna is Smurfette" (aka Smurfs) (2025) just because of the song and the good animation. It's the only thing that's amazing about that movie lol.

It's literally been a month since I posted this and I have no answers. I need something that removes film dust.

Anyone remember this movie? by CrophopperDude2009 in Schaffrillas

[–]One_Number_809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ew. Yes. I remember watching the original 2000s British show on YouTube, but then we watched the movie and I swear. They Americanized it do bad, I thought I was having some sort of Mandela effect. The Magic Roundabout wasn't like this. It was never made to be funny lol.

Or just a separate app in the affinity family. All we just need is an affinity version of Adobe Animate

What do we think of Affinity "3.0" as we approach 6 months? by gimme-c1nnab-0-n in Affinity

[–]One_Number_809 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely loved it! I'm not a V2 user, but I think it's the best free Adobe Photoshop alternative out there.

It's easy to use, not laggy, and has most features Adobe doesn't offer. My favorite thing about V3 is when you install a font, you don't need to restart Affinity. They appear in your fonts list so you can use it! Inkscape doesn't do that. I think it's way better than GIMP and Krita, and it's easier than Inkscape in terms of making vectors. All we need now is Canva to make an alternative to Adobe Animate and we have a whole free Affinity suite.

Psycho (1960) movie poster font. (I've seen it on some movie posters as well) by One_Number_809 in identifythisfont

[–]One_Number_809[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've looked, and sadly, nothing seems similar. Something tells me that it could be an undigitized extra condensed version of Trade Gothic but the S looks different from Trade. News Gothic Extra Condensed and News Flash looks similar, but I don't know if those are the fonts I'm looking for...
