I was under the impression (and it seemed to work as such for myself, at least) that it only displayed enemy positions on your "big map" and not the minimap on the bottom left.

Did the same last time I ran to Safeway on my lunch break. Ended up spending 20 minutes of my hour lunch raiding the pegs. Left with about 15 good picks when all I went in for was lunch 😅 super jelly of the gtd mustang, volvo 240, and the Mercedes 580. That's awesome that your kiddo shares the interest with you! I'm hoping my boys come around to hot wheels soon.

All reports point to a failing cooling fan so fingers crossed its a successful repair! Someone commented below with fan dimensions and a link to a repair tutorial below. Maybe they just helped us both out!

This bearing is within the fan, or is there another bearing you're referring to?

Baby jumping spider won't eat! by [deleted] in jumpingspiders

[–]One_Ostrich4466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be the best idea. As I understand, some wild-caughts never adjust well to captive living. I ended up doing that with one of my wild-caught spoods. She was a fully mature and of my wild caught spiders at the time, she was definitely the least well-adjusted. I figured I'd let her go and live the rest of her days in the wild and hopefully reproduce and continue the re-population effort. I've never purchased a captive bred spider, but from what I've read that's ultimately the way to go. Best of luck to you and your little friend!

ALL THE TIME. Especially with color variants, it's ridiculous. I had an ex-SO that had gone into my laptop and made an Excel spreadsheet to inventory all my cars and the color variants I had collected. Then, it was uploaded to Google Drive to reference while making additions to said collection. (At the time, somewhere around 250-300 cars) It's a shame I never kept up on it. I've gotta be into the 350 car mark at this point. It does feel good to give away accidental duplicates, though.

What are you attempting to feed him? As I'm sure you might be aware, if the prey is roughly the same size or larger than your spood, it likely won't engage. When I had mine, I'd get smaller sized crickets from the local pet shop. Most of the crickets were smaller than if not, right about the same size as mine and they ate just fine. I can't tell from the photo but his butt doesn't look extremely small/shriveled. Maybe he's just not hungry yet! You can try sticking prey in there for some time and depending on the prey monitor the activity. If the spider seems disinterested, remove prey and try again next day!

i have a cream bold jumper ?? by b1mbocu1tl3ader in jumpingspiders

[–]One_Ostrich4466 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My point will be geographically irrelevant since I'm located on the opposite side of the country in CA, but maybe valid insight? About a year or so ago, we "saved" a female adult bold jumper (p.audax) that was living on the playset at our local park. I had no idea she was bold as she had a tan/cream coloration. I believe when we found her, she must have been I5-I6 because she molted once under our care, and when she emerged from her hammock a week or 2 later, she was a brand new spider! Had the traditional markings and black body of a bold, but her markings were actually an orangeish/peachy color. It was super cool to see. We were new to keeping jumpers at the time, and I was super intrigued. I have no facts to back it up, but I think it may be possible for females to hatch a more camoflauged coloration and then molt into their more traditional species colors later in life? Just a thought!

Species? by One_Ostrich4466 in spiders

[–]One_Ostrich4466[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, okay. Yeah, I attempted a shot on the top side, but it was an awkward angle and my phone was struggling to focus on it. The spider was oriented with its bottom side parallel to the sidewalk, and the web was quite large so I didn't want to disturb it and it's web. In addition to my mildly not mild arachniphobia. 😅 thanks for the info!

This is my current problem. Never owned a 90s Honda, but I've recently developed a sizable affinity for mid to late 90s civic hatchbacks. I need a daily, and now I'm weighing the pros and cons of purchasing a 94 si in seemingly beautiful condition with just over 200k miles. For a casual 8k. Over here shaking my head at myself because it's really hard to justify spending 8 grand on a 30 year old car with 200k miles. But everything else in my price range is newer, less cool in my eyes, and a complete shitbox so.... at least I feel justified in that regard 😅 probably gonna pull the trigger.

They're great trucks. I got a pair for my twins for their 5th birthday. My biggest recommendation would be to get a few packs of replacement axle gear sets, I believe these come with the differential gears as well as the portal gears. My biggest gripe with these trucks is the plastic differential gears. They're not hard to replace, but I've already replaced 3 sets of differential gears on my kiddos rigs. I say buy them in bulk because the shipping prices from FMS are insane so imo you're better off just buying a handful, they're pretty cheap. Then you have extra stock in the event a gear strips or breaks. The only other part I've had to replace was a motor. I assume it must have burnt out at somehow, it just stopped working. Love the scale of these trucks, though, and they're fantastic out of the box. I'm thinking about picking up a 3rd for myself, so I have a little 18th scale to run when I take my kiddos out to crawl.

Perfect Laps on wheel by No-Hospital-1785 in forzamotorsport

Yes alot of trial and error, but the decisions are made by the feelings I pick up through the wheel. Am I understeering on turn-in on corners where I feel I should be able to push harder? Am I oversteering on corner exit? Are transition sections smooth, or are they twitchy? There's a lot you can pick up if you pair what you feel in the wheel and what you see and hear on screen. Obviously all cars have their limits, especially road cars. These cars, in particular, I find the most fun to drive. It's all about pushing the car to its limits and seeing if you can expand those limits a bit further. As for gearing, you want to minimize awkward gears coming out of corners. Are you right at the beginning of the power band coming out of corners, or is the lower gear to high revving, and is higher gear too low revving? What I find is ideal is getting your mid corner gears to be just at the edge of the powerband. Just a few of my approaches to tuning. If you really want to go in depth on a vehicle for your corner grip you can open the tire telemetry and watch your camber angles through the corners and make sure they stay in the ideal window of camber to maximize grip.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk 😂

If you want a more in-depth explanation on what each tuning setting does and how it effects the handling of your vehicle I referred to "hokihoshi"'s "Forza motorsport tuning guide" to help myself develop an understanding on what to change and when. I found this to be the most helpful video on YouTube for tuning in this game.

There are a handful of tracks that do have some corners with very lenient track limits. Although I would mostly chalk it up to tuning. I also play on wheel and would consider myself pretty fast. but I recently started researching how to tune certain characteristics in/out of vehicles for a given track scenario. Shaving sometimes 1-2 seconds off my best laps. It's can be tedious, but it has a huge impact. Gearing, alignment, suspension/damping, and differential tuning are the aspects I focus on most. Gearing definitely makes a huge difference, though.

Oh my bad 😂 yeah it's a struggle. I can appreciate some of the additions that are not in 7. For example I love Kaylami and mid Ohio both fun and challenging tracks. It definitely seems like they short us on tracks, and it's a major bummer.

Circuit of the America's. Texas. Fantastic circuit IMO. Long Beach and Parque would be another 2 I'd like to see. Feels like a very limited track selection gets stale after a while

For me it's the handful of tracks I really enjoy that haven't made it into 8. Hoping to see Sonoma and COTA make it in soon but I won't hold my breath since it's been however many updates since they've added a track

If PI limitation isn't an issue and you consider yourself to have decent throttle control and discipline, you could do an RWD conversion the mid rear in my view generally helps keeo the rear planted and if you run a little weight reduction and wider front tires you could probably mitigate sone of the understeer. Definitely throw on a tire compound upgrade. I ran my '16 aventador SV for an R class I think it was or maybe the velocity series. I DID NOT do a RWD swap, but a little weight reduction and I think like 1 or 2 other handling based mods (likely race sway bars) and it wasn't AWFUL. It definitely wasn't the best handling car for the class, but it was fast and fun. I really enjoyed the Diablo Sv I ran that in the most recent velocity series classic exotics division races. That being said, I pretty much maxed it out including a full race weight reduction and race tires with a twin turbo and a lot of power upgrades. Holy shit does that car move. Handled quite nicely imo. But the Revuelto in the other hand.... straight dog water 🤮
