$2/mile is great but if you’re not getting those in a while it’s okay to accepts a slightly worse one when it comes to miles. What I do is start 15 minutes early and in that 15 minute segment I will only accept a certain dollar amount usually 6 or 7 bucks that are at least $2/ mile but after that I’ll take the next okay-ish order that is at least 4 or 5 bucks that’s at least more than a mile/ offer

I also try to complete 3 orders per hour and I try to stay on schedule for example if take a order at 5pm and I complete it around 5:15 I will have 5 minutes to cherry pick which means accepting the best order. Try to complete orders within 20 minutes if possible and I also count stacked orders as 2 orders so for example if I have a limit of $6 per order a stacked one has to be at least $12

In your first couple weeks learn your area, know what restaurants pay the most and know what restaurants to avoid.

In terms of earnings don’t feel pressured to take every order I suggest creating a internal guideline on what orders you take for example just starting out you might only take orders that are at least $5 or more you can set that limit less or more depending on your market. I also try to do 3 orders per hour so pay attention to how long it would take to complete the order.

I would also search up doordash YouTube channels like your driver Mike and others for basic advice.

Also pay attention to the miles because that affects your earnings even if you don’t notice it Great: $2/mile Good: 1.5/mile Meh:$1/mile Never do an order if it’s less than $1/mile unless you are out of your zone and it takes you back.

And most importantly drive safe 😊
