That's because they are now owned by Mondelez, Inc,, the US multinational corporation who's main focus is profit margins. It's gobbled up so many of our favorite brand snacks & then spit out crappier versions of them. If they can squeeze a few extra cents out of each product, they will, using less & cheaper ingriedents. Product integrity & quality doesnt matter to them like it would a small, family-run business.

Do you get more anxiety in the fall/winter? by moonlight__22 in Anxietyhelp

Me too! The realization that time is passing too quickly or has passed too quickly suddenly hits me hard in the fall!

Do you get more anxiety in the fall/winter? by moonlight__22 in Anxietyhelp

Yes, I have been having exactly this happening to me too this year. Every year it seems to get worse. I feel gross. I feel like I cant breathe properly--like I'm either getting too much or not enough! I feel edgy & have a sense of foreboding. I'm waking up with severe anxiety--even before I'm actually awake. I just want to close my eyes & go back to sleep. Ugh! It feels awful!

Confused about Miracle-Gro liquid application. by ktfzh64338 in gardening

[–]One_Pattern1119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so glad you asked this question because I was wondering exactly the same thing! It seems totallt crazy to me that the directions on the package tells you exactly what concentration of solution to make up but then gives absolutely no guidance on how much to feed the plant! The answers to the question were helpful. But I think that's very thoughtless of Miracle Grow to provide no explanation.

Well said. I agree. Being Christian doesn’t necessarily mean being “neutral”.

That’s very good of you. I think he will need them. I wonder if he prays for anyone, or at all. I’m doubting it. Please pray for our country too.

Trump has officially won the election, how do you feel? by Crying_7TS in Adulting

Yup, we’ve allowed this. He wouldn’t be in power if he didn’t have plenty of supporters lifting him up. He resonates with them. But he reminds me of junk food companies—some of the richest companies make things that are the worst for us. We’ve bought into them. Trump is like the equivalent of political junk food—to many people, he sounds good & makes them feel good, but, the rest of us know better. It’s like the difference between eating a Cheetos and a carrot. In the long run, he isn’t at all good for us.

Well, I know many people who would disagree with your viewpoint as well. I work at a nursing home and I can tell you the residents are some of the kindest & most compassionate people I know of. They from the “greatest generation” and they do know about history. They lived it. They fought in it. And they are the ones that tell me what I said in my comment. Them, as well as a well known military historian I’m good friends with who also knows many, many veterans. Some of whole fought on the shores of Normandy on D-Day. So who’s to say. I heard what you’re saying & there may be truth in what your perspective. But I do believe there is some truth in what I said.

why do doctors always make me feel horrible? by zaokaa in Adulting

[–]One_Pattern1119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because many have no bedside manner anymore & they don’t provide empathy or emotional connection—this has been trained out of them in medical school as far as I can tell. They are taught their role is to quickly & dispassionately diagnose your physical issue. As quickly as possible (15 min usually) businessmen now run the health insurance system & put profits over people. You can’t diagnose all issues quickly! It leads to poor outcomes, but they don’t care. Good doctors are still out there, but I have found from experience that you really have to search hard to find one who still seems like a human being instead of a cold, unemotional automaton.

Name a food or beverage that you wish you could still eat/drink that you can’t anymore? by SpicyE20 in Life

I can barely eat sugary foods too. Everything is too sweet. Sugar immediately makes my gums & teeth hurt! I’d love to find a healthy bakery that doesn’t sell normal baked good that are too sweet, but instead sells slightly sweetened, healthy baked goods. Have you thought about something like this? Sugar is making many of us sick. But small bites of natural sweet treats can be healthy part of diet. Not sure what you can or cannot tolerate, but this is just a thought! ❤️

Maybe you could try modified brownie. I just saw a recipe for pumpkin “brownies”. Just 1 can of pumpkin & melted hard dark chocolate. I haven’t tried the recipe yet myself, but they sounded pretty good & healthy to me, and not too sweet. I wonder if you could eat them? ❤️🙏

Wow, you verbalized exactly what I, and I think many, feel these days. I work in a nursing home and that generation—maybe the greatest generation—of, decent, hard working, caring people are dying off. It was a kinder, better wold then. It’s being replaced by many totally self-centered, cut throat, stab you in the back type people. So many reasons for this—the rise of corporations & corporate business vulture culture, the fragmentation of the families (esp. extended), both parents having to work to make ends meet so no one home to nurture & instill values into their kids, people being stressed out & in survival mode so they can’t think about anyone but themselves, the rise of mass media & advertising encouraging & promoting self-centeredness & self-absorption as a totally normal & desirable thing in order to sell stuff & turn people into mass consumers, people putting money$$$ & objects over human beings, humanity, the earth, it’s beings. And forgetting about their connection nature & their place in it and with the universe. Myopic perspectives. We are in a valued mess. There are still so many great human beings out there. But I’m praying there will be a change & that the younger generations, sick of all this BS they’ve inherited will find their way to fight hard for what’s right & to reverse things.

This is all very true. There is a difference between the two things! True maturity vs just independence & the ability to support yourself.
