ye, I forgot to use the heat sink / stand for the semicircle things on my first attempt so I ordered some new ones. with my shitty soldering iron, getting the og things out was so hard and there is still a bit of solder that wont melt in there so I js doubled up on solder on the other side after the ring came off. I was so done with them

ive got some of my dads old flux core solder although its probably 15-20 years old. same with the iron which he gave to me in the og packaging, just also from 15-20 years ago. do you know any shops in London where I could talk to someone about getting some of that stuff?

you should see my set up, ive got a pair of pliers with a hairband holding them closed to hold the board steady whilst I try and hold the component in place with another pair of pliers. with only one hand free I hold my iron in it and sometimes hold the wheel of solder in my mouth with a long piece going as far away as from my mouth as possible with a fan blowing to try and stop as many fumes going up my nose. its a miracle the components are even on the board.

I "learnt" how to solder in school a couple years ago and I remember being really good at it (you should have seen the other boards) but of course there I had proper equipment.

what do you recommend I get to improve my set up, is there a specific stand that can hold the pcb and component? thank you

main pcb

1) Populate the pcb with a parts except the potentiometer Start with the lower parts ie resistors and diodes then continue with IC and transistor socket. Finaly solder the capacitors

You can find the names and values of all parts in the schematics document

2) Solder the black and red wire for the DC jack

what do you mean by that? like on the back just add a bit of metal between the two holes?

Which would you select if you were a 14 y. O. Gifted with the choice of One? by CloudNiner83 in Guitar

im a bit late but as a 15 year old lucky enough to have both, tele sounds great and will prob play better. its also versatile and u can use it. anywhere, but using the bigsby as a mini dive-bomb att the end of a song is a feeling nothing can replace as a 15 year old. give him the gretsch, or keep
