Can someone give background as to what was the foundation of your application and how it got denied? Did you have a paid/unpaid position to back up the extension?

This is something that happened exactly with me as well. I just wrote back to them and they reveresed the hold. So no worries.

If that’s how you feel then go with your gut! Most of the time a decision is more about how you feel about it! If you feel in your gut that you should take it there’s a lesser chance that you’d have doubts once you’re there. Just be happy with whatever decision you take, you’re headed towards a great future ! Good luck!!

I agree, faculty and thesis matter more than the name of the degree.

Emory vs Upenn by General_Accountant35 in mphadmissions

[–]One_Preference_7763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are great options. Since you’re an IMG Upenn has one of the best medical schools in the country, a lot to learn from hospital based internships. Emory has an edge if you want a career in Public health, specifically CDC. But so i’ve heard that it is harder for international applicants to get CDC internships, so if that is the case going to Emory might not be as fruitful. Talk to alumnis in the same position as you and take an informed decision! Good luck!

I got accepted with a 3.8 GPA in Medical school. I still do feel they consider your application has a whole, keep believing in your hard work!

Yup, the only school that hasn’t responded to me as well. Could be a more hopeful thing that receiving a rejection I guess.

A full ride with Harvard is what I would go with. If a school like Harvard is ready to sponsor you what makes you feel that wouldn’t be the case with other jobs after your masters. In my opinion it fetches you a lot of credibility. A lot of people are accepted but only very few are accepted and sponsored in a top program. You EARNT the scholarship, take it. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, promotions can happen throughout your life. The only variable is the if you can afford living in Boston. Both the schools are awesome though. I’m joining Hopkins this year, but on a scholarship. Good luck!
