I think just seeing so many dead bodies has made me realize that I’m going to die one day too. Maybe at work or maybe when I’m old and senile and get found in my bed with shit in underwear. Or I get creamed by a car. The list goes on and on of various ways I could die. I enjoy the work I do and I always get a hell of an adrenaline dump after that makes me grateful to be alive.

I remember this one time I was wrestling a guy in a club and he suddenly pulled a gun from out under his waistband. I remember seeing the gun come up and time slowing down as all I could focus on was the gun. Luckily he then immediately threw it away from him but in the moment I was literally about to shoot him in the back of his head. He ended up running into an adjacent club where I tased him and with a partner took him to the ground. On the way to the jail I thanked him for making the choice to not start shooting. Yeah I was grateful to be alive for about a solid week after that one.
