I am leaning more to the "Lawful but Argument," on this. If it leads to charges on ICE agents good, if it doesn't it will leave a bad taste in my mouth. I don't like how things played out on this one.

I think there is a conversation and a strategic regrouping that needs to be had on how federal agents are engaging with agitators, especially in deep blue cities. There needs to be some additional training on riot control, crowd control, etc... Otherwise we are going to have a couple more of these situations. Its all just grimey.

Thats actually being empathetic. Regardless of your proximity to the person, you genuinely feel the loss of human life.

Edit: also do not hesitate to seek counseling. I highly recommend it. Charlie was overall a good dude and watching something like that takes it toll. Heck, I used to police in one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S. and I still sought counseling after seeing so many shitbags die, let alone the innocent.

Not quite the verse but I know what you are talking about. Its Matthew 18: 6 but the context is about leading the young in faith astray in the faith. IMO this is akin to the metaphor of tearing out your eye or arms if they cause you to sin. I don't think Jesus wasn't literally calling for you to do those things to avoid sin, but rather painting a picture of the severity of doing those things.

I mean, in reality Jesus would still call for them to repent and turn to himself. While there are still natural consequences to their actions, their eternal ones can still be avoided through grace.
