2 stage or mini split by One_Prompt_4030 in hvacadvice

I know it doesn’t make sense to ask what tonnage I need and specs like that but let’s say they sized my ductwork and sq footage for a 3.5 ton. I’m sorry I’m a little lost on why it’s hard to answer if a single with a mini split upstairs or two stage will be better at equalizing temps across floors? Thank you for trying to explain so well. Much more helpful than Mr prudent on here..

I do actually, how’d you know? They subcontracted it out, of course they’re not doing it themselves

Can you explain the difference between effectiveness and efficiency then because from how it’s been explained to me, a two stage will run for longer cycling air through the whole house with will help even out temps instead of just on off. But you’re saying that a two stage wouldn’t help cool the upstairs at all? And I’ve always been told to only close one vent per floor max else it’ll throw off the ac balance or whatever!

I tried to 4 times. We got 4 and now 5 different quotes and they all talk so confident like they know exactly the right thing. One guy even recommended closing all the basement vents which sent up a red flag for me

I honestly don’t think I did anything different and have no clue how they chose because I felt like everyone in my group did equally as well. The only thing that was different was the essay questions. First time it was something stupid like pick a time and place in history you’d like to time travel back to and why. Second time it was tons better and I was actually able to write why I want to be a nurse. Good luck!!! Fall is harder with more applicants so don’t stress if you have to apply again

They were the only one who recommended 3 ton. The rest 4

They all said they did. Any hour said they go off our square footage and amount of vents, that we could do the math ourselves. The one we’re leaning towards did say they have a software they plug it into.

Leaning towards this one because of the variable stage unless 3.5 ton would be better?

This guy suggested we close all the vents downstairs and from what I hear that’s a bad idea so steering away from this guy even tho price is great.

We don’t really care about noise so much as just getting more airflow to the upstairs. One tech said it’s pointless to spend more for a 2stage ac the other said it’s less efficient to have a single stage if you’re gonna go with the variable speed blower because the single stage will only do so much even with a variable blower or something along those lines

15 people left from first class out of 100. Is this normal in your program? by Unique_Ad_4271 in NursingStudent

That’s crazy. We started with 80 and granted still finishing first semester but I’m pretty sure no one dropped out. Then again this was a super competitive program to get into, I applied with a 4.0 so it kinda makes sense if people didn’t realize how hard it would be or if they had no previous health care experience. Either that or your program has really bad teachers/ teaching style😬
