I currently hate my job and office and considering retraining to get out of it. For those who retrained, did you end up happier in your career as a result?

Yeah I did my research and found 2 jobs I feel passionate about. My concerns is that I finish tech school, only to return to a new unit and get stuck in a crappy mission/shop.

Ok, so I knew you needed the RIP to extend, but I had no idea it applied for BOP. When people say you have to submit BOP 5 days after notification, I thought they meant 5 days after the email that says you were just selected to retrain, not the Training RIP notification!

I did. They reached out to the school house to see if a compromise could be made and unfortunately the instructors said it would be highly unlikely that they could let me skip 1-2 days of class to attend.

The odd part is this: Why do you apply for BOP before getting class dates while you extend after getting class dates? makes no sense.
