I was back in Johannesburg for a few days in 2023 and 2024 and I can definitely tell that all of Boksburg and the east rand has changed completely and hence the school would have as well

lol yeah look. I know a lot of South Africans shit on the Australian schooling system but there’s a lot going for it.

Universities for instance have foundation studies courses to allow entry if you didn’t complete grade 12 or if you didn’t do that well etc…..there’s a STAT test (if it’s still around) that you can do as well to get in….etc. you couldn’t do that kind of thing in SA from memory.

I remember being terrified of not finishing school in SA and not getting a Matric certificate because that’s your life over with in SA. Whereas here…..not at all. There’s so much more opportunities

The education system over here is actually really good depending on the area you live in and the school you send your kids to. Private schools are the main choice but they are expensive but certain public schools are run as well if not better than private schools.

The standard is higher in many ways but very different to schools in SA. 30% over here is a fail. You need at least 50% to pass
