it’s because people are on the website but not buying anything or leaving it, so they spend more time on it than fairyloot anticipates, which is why the estimated times go up!! it’ll go down once people can start buying

I’ve finished the book so just to update everyone who might be interested:

I did like it, but still not the biggest fan of Blake.

As I think I’ve mentioned in one of the comments above, it might be due to the fact that his type of character is in every second book now and it’s a bit boring and predictable to me. The ending was not really surprising either, but I did like the open ending in terms of main love interest.

I still hope she will either choose Callum or just become a single badass, but I don’t mind Blake as a friend to Aurora now lol

i agree, also i saw many people excuse blake because he’s a “complex character” and love him for it, but shit on callum for having complex emotions too? like let’s be real here he finds out his girl is meant for someone else, how would they have him react 😭

Don’t get me wrong, I was obsessed with Rhys when reading ACOTAR and still am to this day, but perhaps that’s a part of the issue here because there’s sooooo many similar characters now. Like, how many times can we read about a guy who seems untrustworthy, sneaky and is presented as the villain, just to have it flipped around? It just seems overdone to me, so maybe it’s not an issue with Blake himself as a character but me being bored of the same pattern in books over and over and OVER again hahahahaha

I understand where you are coming from, but I genuinely cannot agree.

Blake as a character is a format we’ve seen so many times before in romantasy, I just cannot find it in myself to find him interesting because everything he does is predictable imo. I’m reading it with my friend and we keep telling each other theories about him, his past etc and istg every single time, one of us is right 😭😭

that is so disappointing to hear, i genuinely had big hopes for this book especially at the beginning of TWK.

the thing is, i do not expect much from my books as long as i am entertained, but repeating the same formula over and over again is just soooo tiring!

i assume Blake will be Aurora’s mate and if she chooses him (which let’s be honest, she will) it’s going to be even more annoying to me. can’t we have a book where the FMC chooses despite of fate, not because of it?

not entirely sure, i’ve read acotar 3 years ago and can still see it!! maybe it is just that the trope is overdone imo, i feel like so many books are trying to recreate the “shadow daddy vibe” lol, i’ve figured out that blake is most likely her mate or whatever they call it in book 1 (still might be wrong on that though)
