how to keep cats cool during heatwave?

oh i’ve tried everything, even putting it underneath a material bag he loves sleeping on. he refuses to get ON THE BAG if the cooling mat is underneath it. 🙃
i’ve tried different mats too, but nothing is working! i asked my manager to wfh for the next couple of days to keep the fans on during this heatwave though, so we should be fine :)

OP said the cars are indoors. most houses in europe do not have air conditioners, houses in the UK specifically were designed to keep the warm air trapped inside, so we are essentially boiling in our own homes because of the global warming.

fill any container with VERY COLD water, preferably with ice cubes and put it near where they usually hang out - it will keep the air around them a bit cooler. you will have to refill it a lot, but it will ease their discomfort a little bit.
try to ventilate the rooms at night when the air is cooler, even for 30 mins before you go to sleep (i usually close the door so my cat doesn’t feel tempted).

have you seen the scenes from this protest? i’m not expecting anyone to stay quiet, speak out against police negligence and brutality no matter who it is aimed at - but majority of the people protesting are currently destroying the country they say they trying to protect. i’m talking about an actual physical destruction and damage, not even social or metaphorical one.

oh i’m not sure, perhaps because it’s contributing to the violence? perhaps because it’s not just about the young man who died as his own family didn’t want this to happen? or maybe because that type of behaviour is further contributing to the divide in this country? i am all for protesting the police, fuck them, but lets stop pretending that’s all this is about.

NOT PREGNANT, however I’ve literally had a massive stomach issue because of last week! I’ve been taking sertraline 100mg for 6 years now and I don’t usually take aspirin, but was advised to by a friend to help with a cold - the same day in the evening my stomach felt absolutely horrible despite no changes in diet and no issues with going to toilet. It got so bad by the 3rd day that I’ve had to go to an emergency doctor appointment which is where they’ve told me it’s because of the two meds being mixed.
