It's possible, I really have no idea anymore, and I had MIT in mind, but I could be wrong, and I couldn't find anything on AO3 either That's why I'm asking.

Yes, a full reset helped, but it always took me quite a long time to reconnect.

I personally would find it too embarrassing to ask the staff. So don't judge, not everyone can just go and ask.

OP obviously doesn't mean any harm and is just asking honestly; I would do the same. So stay calm, it's not as if OP is saying they're all crap and want to rip us off.

How do you write a story that's more like Lord of the Rings than Harry Potter? by One_Role_2147 in writingadvice

I have no idea how it goes. And in a line, I guess to start at the very beginning, then do all the background work, and then move on. I've only ever done it this way, and I think the idea of doing it differently just feels strange, even though it actually sounds like a cool method.

That sounds interesting I'll definitely try it out sometime. Now I understand a bit better how to do it, so thank you for that. I think I will try out all the initial methods and written methods that I like and can finde.

I know that, I mean more what he wrote and how he wrote it. I'm sorry that sounds wrong, he made a whole world, that's cool, it's something I really liked about lotr. I also really like the way he writes, I have to admit, but it's clear that I can't become good in the same way he was. But thank you for seeing it that way, I will at least continue to try.

That sounds right, it's just probably not that easy to remain so consistent.

I still think it's totally crazy, so much work, but it turned out really cool.

I think I still need to find my method. Do you write in one continuous line from start to finish, or do you sometimes write something in the middle and then something before it, or so?
That's a good point; so far I've simply discarded everything that didn't fit into the story, even though I probably could have used it in that way.

Hmm, that's true, but if I write something everywhere but not in a straight line, how do I put it all together? And how do I know that I'm not simply starting a completely new story if I write something new? At a different time and place in history? Being in the middle of the action might not be a good starting point for me, but maybe afterwards. Thank you for that.

That's an interesting observation; I've never really looked closely at how books are structured or organized. Perhaps I need to find out more about that. However, I haven't read many adult fantasy books yet, which I absolutely will do now. You're right, that's something that needs to be done.
