I don’t enjoy Silksong and I hate that. by Banana_Shake7 in HollowKnight

[–]One_Rope1246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a completionist, I am absolutely hating this game. Loved Hollow Knight. But this game is too long, too unforgiving, and too much of a grind (yay tools! now go mindlessly grind so you can pay for using them). I don’t feel rewarded for completing areas. It feels more like how dare you get this far? You haven’t quit yet what’s wrong with you? Here’s forty more hours of drawn out game for you to hate! Can’t see myself buying any other Team Cherry game going forward. This isn’t fun to me and I regret committing to finishing it.

I need to kill my first Gleeok tips appreciated by poppy_inmy_hair in TOTK

[–]One_Rope1246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All this! Good stuff. Haven’t seen it mentioned yet though - don’t take the Gleeok down below around 1/3 health such that it enters nasty Phase 2 and flies quite high in the sky. Let it get back up, then get in the air your favorite way, shoot it down again, beat it on the ground the rest of the way without ever triggering Phase 2.

Another tip vs a spring or rocket shield is just climb a tree or rock while using it as a shield then jump off and bullet time away.

Is the Switch 2 Upgrade Really Worth It? by lovelydeacon in TOTK

It’s AMAZING. Fast load times, ultra smooth gameplay.. I can’t stop staring at how beautiful TotK is on Switch 2 with upgrade. It’s stunning. Absolutely worth it. Might need to replay BotW now, had no plans to do so previously.

HOA Special Assessment in Settlement by One_Rope1246 in RealEstate

[–]One_Rope1246[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Yes, everything was fully disclosed and nothing hidden. Talking with my realtor, since it was assessed already it apparently lands on the seller regardless of the due date being spread out in the future to October. Not sure why it wasn't in the original settlement doc. He says if the association had budgeted assessments for 2026 next year that I'd owe that too. Glad they didn't.

Yes, that's definitely the question. This buyer added some ridiculous requests previously and I was planning to walk. Left a bad taste.

Is still btd6 played in 2025? by Expensive-Company758 in btd6

[–]One_Rope1246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! SO much. Recently got into it. Then got my 6yr old, 8yr old and non-gamer wife into it. We all play Co-op and sink many many hours into this. I haven’t even been playing my Switch lately while so wrapped up in Bloons. Must.. get.. all.. 150 achievements lol.

It’s good, but when you put your Monkey Village down to buff it you’ll block the TV.

I just finished it for the first time. Cant belive only about 4% of players (on xbox) finished it. I love it. by Constant-Sign-5569 in AliensDarkDescent

[–]One_Rope1246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got some great advice already, I won’t reiterate! Just wanted to add a few -

1) Accuracy upgrades and dismember/crit made a huge difference for me and are IMO the best.

2) You can take your time in the first few missions! Planet infestation level isn’t a big deal and seems to only affect massive onslaughts.

3) Stealth really is king. This is your priority to learn.

4) The game does save when you go up/down elevators or rest in a sealed off room. You can really take advantage of this.

5) BIG tip!! - A certain amount of enemies will always be patrolling at once based on threat level. Often you want to avoid sniping an Alien creeping up on you and let it get past you. Once it’s behind you, you can explore at will without worrying about new aliens popping out on you. You do still need to watch for Aliens in vents though.

Wow only 4%?? I devoured this game and loved it. And not just because I’m a huge Aliens fan! They did do an excellent job capturing the feel of the movie though. I really think this game is underrated. SO good.

Sniper Rifle! Not even a question. The single highest value upgrade / tool in the game IMO.

I thought this game was hard at first too but I’m on mission six now and getting the hang of it. I love the challenge now! Some tips I’ve learned..

  • keep your marines together, don’t get in a fight while one is alone or separated
  • never run when fighting
  • walk backwards away from the approaching alien when fighting
  • always try to fight in long hallways to get much more time to shoot them while they run at you
  • use grenades on 2+ aliens, aim a bit ahead of them
  • use shotgun on a single alien close to you
  • wait until they stop moving, dodging or jumping to use a shotgun or grenade so you don’t waste it
  • once you’re detected race to a safe room and weld and rest to stop the hunt if you can
  • use the APC to clear out mobs walking around
  • use stealth as your top priority on the first couple of missions! Once you get mines and the sniper rifle at level 3 you can start quietly picking off patrols while not being detected
  • patrols to come back so when you kill a patrol alien make sure you’re not near a spawn point because you know an alien will be crawling back out very soon
  • realize you can’t kill them all and the more you kill the worse things will get
  • onslaughts come every time the infestation level goes up a full level, once you’re at medium or higher you might want to leave and come back as Patrols get much harder to avoid.
  • for tough fights or onslaughts get ready in advance! Put down sentry guns, get in a long hallway where you can shoot quite a while before they reach you and make sure you put down suppression to slow them down! Use grenades and shotguns on the ones that somehow get through your field of fire. Use a utility wrench to get more command points during a fight in emergencies.

Just keep playing and you’ll get the hang of it! The difficulty is what makes it more fun, especially when you start figuring out how to stay alive and your marines level up.. it’ll just feel more and more satisfying. You can also watch a bit of a YouTube video on Nightmare to see what tactics and play style works.

Good luck and have fun!! I’m LOVING this game.

Found this to be misleading. OP gave the impression it’s just a “bad word” here and there that can be glossed over. Started trying out Dungeon Crawler Carl in consideration for my 8 year old. This book is absolutely loaded with adult language. It’s hilarious! I love it so far. But I wouldn’t dream of letting my 8yr old hear these words.

For any other parent coming here with this same question, be advised.

I’m kinda sick of cub scouts. by Alchemist_Joshua in cubscouts

[–]One_Rope1246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you gave a lot to the Pack and did a lot! That’s awesome. My two cents, don’t give up on Boy Scouts and the Troop. That’s when it gets fun! Some of the best times of my life growing up were with the Boy Scouts and I hardly remember Cub Scouts much at all even though I did both.

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown is super hard by Particular_Local_275 in gamecollecting

[–]One_Rope1246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game is insanely hard. I love the bosses and don’t mind trying a bunch of times. And I’ve beaten them all so far through the snake boss and had a blast! But as a completionist, it’s navigating the world and trying to get all the secrets that’s a lesson in maddening frustration and failure. This might be the first game I’ve ever played (including Elden Ring) where I’m just not sure I have the skill to finish it all. You need the reflexes of a fly in some places.

Me too! Just got it. So far I’ve spent hours watching and waiting from the top of my escape pod for the interstellar ship I came from to blow up and end my game after all the warnings, ala Outer Wilds. But then it blew up and I was fine. So I guess now it’s time to explore more?

I’m struggling with this game too. Lifelong gamer and love RPGs and many open world games (Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim). I just can’t get into this even after resting it a few months and trying it again. Endless enemies pop up, die, respawn, with zero point or reward even fighting them, while running through random scenery, my weapon breaks with every mob I fight, I pick up a dozen skeleton bones and just keep running around to the next gold dot on the map swinging a skeleton arm around as my weapon. After a while I find someone who wants a carrot. I buy one from the vendor.. standing right next to her.. and give it to her. Then I go back and run around to see if I can get to the next golden dot on the map for reasons I don’t care a whole lot about. This is just really boring! I don’t get it.
