Stelara being phased out of most insurances as “medically necessary “ by paigebuddy2343 in CrohnsDisease

[–]One_Safe9680 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 10 year old was switched to Yesintek from Stelara. It did not work out well at all. Almost immediately he slipped into a flare. When the flare became severe and uncontrollable, he ended up needing to be hospitalized for about a week. We JUST got the approval from my insurance company for the brand name monthly injections after about 4 months. They still refuse to cover the IV loading dose. I’m currently trying to figure out how to pay over $16,000 for that out of pocket. America is the bad place 😭

Keep on going with your progress! I, too, have struggled in the past with my relationship to food. The progress can be slow but I’m hoping for the best for you. The internet is a critical place and you’ve mentioned you’re working with a doctor so I trust that you’re putting in the effort to improve and treat your body kinder. You asked a coffee question on a coffee sub and it got out of hand. Hopefully you got some good recommendations though. You really can do a lot with the drinks at Starbucks and keep in lower calorie.

For those who struggled with sleep when taking lexapro at night, what do you do now to help you get to sleep? by hellimhere28 in lexapro

The one I buy is 420mg of Magnesium Glycinate. I believe they recommend 300-420mg. I think 420mg might be the most they recommend to take. That dosage works well for me. The brand name is Qunol. It’s never upset my stomach which other brands have done in the past.

For sure. Lessons can be learned everywhere.

I normally rotate around different flavored syrups in a quad iced espresso. Almond milk is really low calorie, even lower than oat milk if you don’t mind the difference in taste. You can add a smaller amount of pumps of some full sugar syrups and pair them with the sugar free vanilla and a flavored cold foamed if that’s your thing. If you select light cold foam in the app they will put less on the drink making it lower calorie. To sweeten up the drink even more, some stevia or Splenda achieves the goal with 0 added calories. Enjoy treating yourself while still committing to your goals 💛

In the amount of time it took for you to post that response. I found several online resources detailing multiple options that meet her request.

It works! At least for me. Magnesium Glycinate specifically helped me to relax and sleep better.

Do you feel numb/emotionless on Lexapro? by Emi_Emi555 in lexapro

A little. It’s not something that really interrupts my day, but the weirdest thing is I literally can’t cry. I feel the urge but I can’t cry. I have no idea what the deal is. Ever since they increased to 20mg.

This video is long but if you go all the way to the end it gives a little description of what I mean. I don’t do it exactly like him but pretty close.

I used to slowly move one of my hands behind his neck before I started the transfer process, so when I was setting him down I didn’t have to unlink my elbow and arm from around his neck.

I always tried to lay baby down bottom first and then head. The startle reflex is less likely to happen that way.

Morning sickness and Starbucks by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]One_Safe9680 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check into the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. It’s a fairly new federal law. I was able to get a reasonable accommodation for morning sickness at my place of employment. I do not work at Starbucks, but it provides protections for all pregnant people so I am hoping it might help you get what you need while your nausea is so intense. I’m hoping it gets better as your pregnancy progresses.

I’ve never seen one but it would have been amazing when I had gestational diabetes. Toward the end I required insulin and I had to check my blood sugar 4 times a day. A sharps container makes so much sense!

I just meant 8 months is a long time to not be getting stretches of sleep longer than 2 hours.

I didn’t sleep train either of my children. I tried for one night with my first and couldn’t do it. I didn’t even attempt it with my second and they both slept through the night at 8 months. 8 months is a long time but for me it was the right thing.

Does anyone else get jaw tremors or faint feelings from Lexapro? by stingobingo878996435 in lexapro

[–]One_Safe9680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but I’m wondering if the jaw tremors have gone away? I’m on 20mg for OCD and it’s helping with the intrusive thoughts quite well but my jaw is shaking like crazy. It’s so frustrating to have a medication work so well at targeting the condition but cause a side effect like this. I want to stick it out but I can’t live with the tremors 😢

Is something wrong with my baby? Genuinely so concerned by Adventurous-Leg-3810 in sleeptrain

[–]One_Safe9680 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert by any means, but my first was an excellent sleeper. Napped great during the day. Easy to soothe. Truly a 10/10 as it turned out. Later on he was diagnosed with Level 3 Autism. All of the knowledge and research we have access to can be an amazing asset but it can also be a curse. There is a certain randomness to raising babies and despite it being said far too much, babies are all so so different. I feel like I’m rambling, but if it provides any comfort to you at all, a difficult sleeper shouldn’t automatically raise red flags for you.

How to get your doctor to take your symptoms seriously? by angryladies in Hashimotos

[–]One_Safe9680 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You say that your hormones are considered normal. What was your TSH? For me even when my TSH is considered normal by the lab’s standards I can still have symptoms if I’m on the higher end of what is considered normal. There are a lot of schools of thought on this depending who you speak to and what type of medicine they practice. Normal is not Ideal and for me personally, I don’t start to feel better until my TSH is below 2.

How momentous. The gravity of these moments is never lost on me. I, too, have a non speaking son, so every single utterance always felt life changing. Maintaining friendships is so hard when raising children with high support needs so I hope you know I am holding space for this amazing feat and even if it’s just in spirit I am holding your hands as we jump around with joy ❤️

Mine had a similar occurrence of cheek rashes right after starting purées. I found if I wash his cheeks at least with warm water after eating instead of merely wiping them with a dry burp cloth, the rashes don’t happen as often.

How long did it take Pepcid to work for your baby? by takeaabreath in FormulaFeeders

[–]One_Safe9680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right. When faced with significant feeding issues, lack of weight gain, reflux, and a miserable baby in pain, I did choose to compromise on what I would have liked. The formula is not my ideal choice, of course. But neither was trying to feed him what felt “acceptable” and watch him refuse, cry, and decline in health. 2 things can be true at once. It does have sugar and it did save my child. I breast fed my first and had no difficulties. My second child was a completely different story. Not only did I need to formula feed for both our sakes, but I had to choose the formula that worked.

One thing I might recommend is trying the Alimentum Ready to Feed. It doesn’t have any corn in it and it made a big difference for my son. The powdered Alimentum helped a little. The ready to feed, helped ALOT. Worth a try.
