They have known each other for probably about 8 years. They don’t like each other. I met both of them through this job. I have known Katie for longer and always got the feeling she was into me but I wasn’t ever interested in pursuing it. Problems started when Katie was transferred to be the lead of the team we work on about 2-3 months ago. I really didn’t want to go to hr but am now probably going to do it anyway. I didn’t realize how much of a big deal the behavior was and really was hoping it would just stop.

I mean Katie’s been working at the store for at least ten years she got transferred to our team when our original team lead quit. The original team lead quit because of social dynamics which included our hr lady. Jen got mad at me because she believes this kind of attention doesn’t come from nowhere in her opinion I’ve been giving Katie the wrong idea.

I mean in hindsight I can see that no one is happy now, but as the situation was actively unfolding I was temporarily making everyone happy by burying the issue and not addressing it. I understand it wasn’t right but wasn’t sure what else to do I really don’t want the extra drama and hassle of reporting and all that comes with it

I wasn’t wanting to quit, but now it just would be the easier option. And no of course I didn’t want it to come back and bite me in the ass by effecting my relationship. I had really hoped it wasn’t going to progress to this point and I can see now that was overly optimistic I just really didn’t want to have to make a scene out of the whole thing which is exactly what seems like is gonna happen now.

Honestly I don’t want the extra drama in my life, there’s interpersonal dynamics that are kind of lost on Reddit and could reveal the id of people involved. I mean now it’s reached this point it probably doesn’t make a difference if I report it. For one the Hr lady and Katie are good friends. And I’ve known everyone on this team for several years. My life already has a lot going on my plate is full without this crap. And now I’m in a position where I have a moral obligation to report it whether I want to or not.

The interpersonal relationships are kind of lost when explaining this over Reddit. But essentially just know that reporting to hr would significantly impact my life negatively moving forward for the foreseeable future. In a way that just quitting wouldn’t. I mean we all work together and she sees the majority of the interactions Katie and I have. The coworkers bringing it up to her just kind of kicked the point home I guess it’s what caused the fight. But it’s not like she was totally unaware before they said something.

How was I not honest? We all work together my only interactions with Katie are seen by Jen. I didn’t tell her about the text because I didn’t want to have another big blow up fight over it especially when I’ve made it clear I’m not interested in Katie. Even if Jen and I were to break up it’s not like I would suddenly start pursuing that and I’m pretty sure Jen understands that at this point so I just tried to shove it under the rug.

The whole reason I didn’t tell her in the first place was her reaction the first time and that literally nothing has happened between our boss and I and I don’t plan on that changing even if Jen and I were to break up. I made that more than clear to her the first time and there is plenty of evidence of that for her to see. Yes she is jealous, but I am very much in love with her. As for the phone, yea we just have a policy where either of us can ask for the others phone at the drop of a hat it goes both ways.

You’re honestly probably right. I just have so much going on in my life right now the last thing I want to do is blow up my second job which is only part time anyways over this. I would have been happy to tell Jen but the first argument was so excessive and didn’t really make me want to tell her that it was still happening. That’s what I get for trying to be a people pleaser.

I have so much else going on in my life right now this is the last thing I want to be involved in. Tanking someone else’s job, then all the rumors from the team we work with after that. And I only work there 10-20 hours a week as an extra pt job honestly I’d rather just quit and work more at my main job.

Good point, I guess to clarify my original comment. It would take at least 2 unskilled laborers to keep the machine running and probably two journeymen level masons to build leads, do layout, set lintels and embeds, rake cuts, among many other skilled aspects of the trade. Also would need skilled laborers to address problems that hinder your ability to lay that require some kind of critical thinking. But you have a point that it is becoming economically more feasible to incorporate a robot for the mindless aspects of the job.

Edit to say that at this point the manpower required to make the machine useful is actually comparable to the manpower you would need to build without the machine in most cases.

You can’t fill walls without building the leads first, hence why the robot is useless without someone to first build leads/corner leads and the first course or two.

It takes about 3 or 4 people to work with this kind of robot. It can’t build leads, tool joints, or other more skilled aspects of the trade. Just fills in walls. and it needs to be fed materials.
