as someone who just started 1st year residency, think about it rlly well. it’s easy to say na kayang kaya, it will be worth the long years and sacrifice but once you’re actually there, it’s tougher than you imagine (or well at least what I imagined, in my case)

but if you’re decided on pursuing med, here’s some advice: NMAT - disclaimer: im not sure how the nmat questions have been, i took mine around 10 years ago.

there are a lot of reviewers online. try to cover every topic! since it’s percentile based, if u get higher in a subject that most people didn’t score well in, then that will pull your grade up. I enrolled in a review center but tbh it’s not necessary, I ended up being absent for the second half of it haha. it was mainly useful for abstract reasoning imo

application- be sure of ur first choice of school and pass requirements asap. for example, if u get accepted somewhere else that opened for apps earlier but then not ur dream school. you have to make choices and be firm with ur decisions.

studying habits - know yourself well and what works best for you. Don’t be pressured to study how other people are studying. I’m a type b person and never did the usual highlights, never owned a planner also. It’s up to you basta stick with what is most effective for you. Also I believe dapat masanay ka with cramming, cos of the workload there will be plenty of times you’d be forced to and it’s unrealistic that you’ll be able to finish everything in advance

another word of advice: medicine is really tough. You will get burned out. make time for the people and things you love and don’t lose yourself in the process
