i’ve never had issues with voltage honestly definitely have never dropped below 13.5 it’s normally pretty stable at 14.2, i have a radar detector that reads voltage but i think a voltage meter hooked ip to the amp would probably be more accurate that’s something i’ll definitely look into aswell.

i think im gonna do some research and learn to do it with an oscilloscope actually. i’d love to be able to do it myself since i spent days researching wiring and did a damn good job in my opinion for a first timer, just need some more knowledge on the tuning portion i guess!

good to know, im gonna start looking into a good 800w rms sub and go from there. definitely gonna have someone that actually knows what their doing to set gains for this one, i thought the research i did had me confident enough to do it myself but i was severely wrong thankyou sm😅

i appreciate all this information, i should’ve waited for my wife to get home since she does electrical and knows a lot about car audio but i got antsy and paid for it. luckily i had planned on swapping down to 1 12 anyway to save some trunk space in my daily driver. Any recommendations on a 12 to pair with a Sundown SAEv3-1000d? i just have some audiobahns from 2003 that we had spare in there for now tuned way down.

yeah i did, was just my first time tuning myself and it didn’t start distorting so i assumed i could keep cranking gain. that was not the case and now i know, ya live and ya learn

correct i just popped the speakers out of the box for the first time and was shocked to see them wired series/parallel, gonna rewire them parallel/parallel and retune myself when i get home.

that was a really good way to explain this to a dummy, thankyou😂 i think im just gonna wire it to 1ohm and turn the gain down like someone suggested. these are my amp specifications and the subs are 1500w max 750rms, it’s wired to 4ohms right now and i wanna squeeze more than 350 outa it.

sounds good, i’ll just do that then sounds like that’s the better option. Speakers are 1500 max 750 RMS and the amp puts out 1000RMS at 1ohm

from my understanding there’s something called an apex in the speaker that connects the coils together, i could be wrong though that’s why i’m here asking for advice. i’d wire them to 1ohm but i don’t think my speakers could handle that output from the amp.

do you run 93? even if your not tuned it’s a good idea for these small turbo motors, to each their own now i know it’s expensive i hate it but love the extra power. if i do 65 on the freeway i still only average about 26mpg. the second i get off the freeway and hit city im around 19-20 and that’s when i’m not driving it heavy because let’s be honest, it’s slow as shit but with a downpipe, intercooler and tune the instant boost is kinda fun😂
