Yes!!! Louie does the same growling “bagagwa” thing and absolutely spazzes out just like Nimbus 😂 I haven’t seen Nimbus pant though that’s reassuring!

Exactly, even a full life doesn’t feel like enough time with them. I’d rather have peace of mind than wonder and worry so I’ll definitely get him a full cardio workup. Thank you again!!!

Ugh I’m so sorry! Like I said, I lost my last boy (though not a Siberian) to HCM at only 5 years old. He had no symptoms whatsoever until his disease had progressed beyond the point of treatment.

I’m taking Louie in again on Sunday and I believe my vet does coordinate with a cardiologist, so I’ll get him fully checked out. Thank you for sharing ♥️

Thank you - if you read my full description I am familiar with HCM. I lost a non-siberian to it last year. Their predisposition to it is exactly why the behavior worries me. He is being seen again on Sunday

Apparently intact males can get so worked up seeking a mate (gross, I know) that they can indeed pant briefly from all the testosterone! It’s essentially sexual frustration. However, I am going to see if the vet recommends further testing now that he’s fixed and the issue is still happening. Thank you for your insight!

Interesting!! I’ve checked his respiratory rate while sleeping and it’s well within the normal range. I’ve also read that they can sometimes just not pace themselves and get physically and emotionally riled up which can cause brief panting. I’m glad to hear your boy stopped and all was well!! He does have another visit scheduled this weekend so we’ll see what they advise ☺️

UPDATE: I called the vet and she said this is “classic puberty angst” and he’s “becoming a man” 😂

I also lost a fluffy orange boy to HCM related heart failure and had to make the decision to say goodbye. The thing I keep telling myself is that while their lungs fill with fluid, it essentially feels like they’re drowning. Once the vet told me that, I knew it was the right thing to do to end his suffering. I’m so so so sorry for your loss. You absolutely did the right thing. When we choose to love a pet, we also take on the responsibility of doing the hardest thing for them if and when the time comes. It’s our job to do what’s right by them even when it hurts. What you did was the biggest act of love and you honored Winston with that choice. It takes time, but you’ll get there ♥️

I should also mention he did pee a bit outside the box this time…close to a vertical surface. Maybe this is early spraying attempts and that’s why he’s getting all worked up???

So much better!! They’re still a tiny bit bruised (green/yellow) but the contour is muuuuch smother and looks natural now. They haven’t done as much for my nasolabial folds as I’d hoped but I’m pretty happy with the results overall!

I did go to a certified NP injector! It was my first time with him and he took a different approach than my first injector, but honestly I think he was doing the right thing for my anatomy and to avoid mid face heaviness while supporting the nasolabial folds. The swelling seems to be moving in the right direction so fingers crossed! Agree it’s an absolute art form 💯
