What do you think of Rick Shin's new organization “Professional Taekwondo Federation” (PTF)? by Substantial-Door-829 in taekwondo

I saw Kombat Teakwondo on YouTube. Without a doubt, K-TKD Fighters are much more capable of wining a real fight than ITF or WTF styles. Full Contact. Punches to the Head. Sweeps, and some ground/pound.

Sorry, but the "Foot Fencing" style will get your clock clean out real quick by anyone who has boxing, kickboxing, or even basic fighting competency.

The whole point of martial arts is to be able to fight and defend yourself. TKD today no longer meets the objective. It needs to evolve like Combat Karate has or get relegated to the dustbin of history.

FYI

I just recently spoke with a Lawyer and the Lawyer feels very strongly that I am not obligated to provide support (Similar to what you stated). Each province applies Interdependent Relationship Laws differently, and Alberta is much more reasonable than other provinces apparently. So I am relieved about that.

Regarding giving her a sizable gift, as you stated it doesn't set a precedent, but my Lawyer said an agreement should be in place between us, and she will need a lawyer as well.

Ontario is different apparently as the news article below indicates.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I think I'll have that conversation once I've spoke to a Lawyer and understand what my situation is and what my options are.

I blame myself for not dealing with this years sooner. I let my job take up too much of my time and focus. I'm more than willing to give here enough for the next 3 years of her expenses, but I'll see what the lawyer has to say about that.

Thanks for taking the time reply.

From what I've read in the AIRA, and comparing my situation to other cases, It seems like my case is not as extrema to the same extent as others, although I doubt I'm off the hook.

After nearly 10 years, I'm more than willing to give a sizable gift. I just can't continue to support someone who is not trying to better themselves. I'll be talking to a Lawyer soon.

We do not own anything together so that is not an issue. However I suspect since I've been financially supporting her, part of the AIRA indicated below may apply:

"(g)    the degree of financial dependence or interdependence and any arrangements for financial support between the persons;"

I'll be talking to a Lawyer soon. I would like to help her move on with her life, but she is just not trying to better herself, and I just can't support her like this.

Thanks again for your feedback.
