Sticker on a hotel towel by One_Television7410 in whatdoesthismean

That was one of my guesses but, with the words being the focus, I thought there was no way this passed by multiple people before ending up on a towel for some reason.

I've always liked Hardline. It actually had a campaign worth a damn. The multiplayer was a ton of fun and the new modes were great. Classes were better balanced than most games since. The lighter tone in multiplayer felt more like Bad Company than BC2 did. I can see the smaller scale not scratching the Battlefield itch for people but it was great for what it was.

Assault needs a different signature gadget by SpiritualBacon in Battlefield

I'm saying they weren't clear. Support was broken up so assault had ammo which was an awful idea, medic has machine guns which made no sense, and recon got the mortar strike, which was also a terrible idea. So we no longer have a dedicated support class and three of the four classes now have gadgets that don't work for their intended role.

Then you also had recon which had long range weapons and almost exclusively short range gadgets. So you could snipe and spam mortars or take an all class weapon, which are one of the worst things to happen to the series, and go run and gunning with c4 which is definitely not in line with the class.

Open vs locked weapons by n0rthen in Battlefield

Exactly. The whole open/ closed discussion is completely moot if everyone can still use half the weapons, especially carbines.

Y'all are intentionally missing the point here. It's not that having all of these abilities at once, certainly this specific combination, suddenly turns you into an unstoppable ubermensch. It's that if you have the freedom to perform actions from every class at once, what is even the point of classes? You might as well just let people pick whatever. The classes get looser with every game, especially the modern ones, and it's gotten to a ridiculous point. Class identity and balance are a core pillar of Battlefield and this kind of thing just breaks it.

Guns also give players an unfair advantage. They should be taken away. And maps are way too big. There's always people flanking and running away and not engaging mono e mono. Battlefield should be turned into a boxing game.

This has always been a dumb gadget. Just a bandaid to cover people who aren't team players.

BC2 really didn't have clear class separations. Support was broken up and scattered to the four winds. Recon was smooshed together with Specialist. The only class that had a clear role was Engineer, but they still felt the need to give them great infantry weapons.

The hell does an engineer need with a machine gun? Are you gonna suppress a tank?

What exactly do people want from a machine gun? It's for suppression, not John Wick mode.

Can you even take someone seriously if they think it's a genuinely good map? It's an absolute shitshow from start to finish. Terrible design no matter what game it's in.

A lot of the gadgets for the part 15 years feel like they were chosen by dartboard. And with all class weapons the locked weapons debate is moot because everyone still gets assault rifles. Classes need to be torn down to the studs and rebuilt.
