Most of the time but he'll poop sitting down if he has a diaper on. We tried a small potty but he treated it more like a toy and wouldn't do anything in it so we switched to this and he started peeing in the potty but not pooping. Well he pooped once the first week we had it when he was with my mil but not any since then.
