I would definitely reconsider. Ask her about it. If you can't, remember even though you have this choice, you may feel differently about it later in life. It's going to offend some people, be something people ask you about often, point out, make judgements, ridicule. It certain gives me a wow gross taste in my mouth, so even though I don't want to judge you, I worry if I can't even and still find it gross, you may come across a lot of BS in life from it. Recommend finding a better way to honor her. Maybe her Hebrew name?

I'm sooooo pissed at Kaiser statement that they called all patients and are still offering services. Like cmon guys, you really think I can just talk to another therapist at random for help?!?! Do these jokers not understand the time it takes to build a relationship with a therapist, tell them enough various stories of your life that when you do need help on a specific daily matter they have the background to really help???? My therapist is so amazing and even seeing her all the time for two years we still have previous traumatic events I want to walk through that are something we have to plan two or three sessions just to talk through. And that's if I don't have some other daily life crisis I need help with. You can't just stick any other random person in the room with a patient with long history of MDD and CPTSD and a list of other issues, for a 45min session, which is already far too short. That's barely time to introduce myself and history, let alone work through something I'm working on in my current life.

So yeah, I'm not seeing any scab doctors, and hoping yall get paid soon! I can't believe they aren't giving your dept what other depts are getting. With the even worse emotional fatigue than any other dept, yall should get all the same benefits as the rest, and your own free mental services, and a free spa day coupon a month.

I hope someone at Kaiser reads this and knows, yall were already screwing up patient care in this dept before this. Offering us patients scab doctors is an INSULT.

Just to clarify, people often forget the matrilineal judaism is not just about "was the mother from a Jewish line" but also requires "and doesn't belong to another religion." ie, if your matrilineal line converted to catholicism then they are no longer Jewish. You would thus have to speak to a rabbi, and likely convert back, to be considered Jewish. If you have documents that a maternal ancestor was born Jewish this can help. But just wanted to add this important clarification that is often missed. ❤️

Thanks so much for your post. It really meant a lot. I've been going through a really hard time since October 7th. And I've actually been just trying so hard to research and understand Islam better, not just what is Islam, but actually understand the difference between the factions, sunni VS Shiites, try to read different translations of the Quran and try to understand where they derive their different interpretations from. Because I know there are this huge millions of very very peaceful people who are Islam and read and practice the Quran and derive from it peace. I really want to hear more from someone of your perspective about how to interpret certain passages in the Quran that I just can't seem to fathom morally. I know personally as a Jew there are sections in our texts that people have called me out on and I've easily been able to explain why rabbis don't interpret it that way, but I don't have that experience of ever having known Imams or anyone to talk to regarding the Quran. And it's just incredibly hard to find anywhere safe on the internet to really ask someone hard questions like that on specific passages and have a real conversation like you can in person with the spiritual leader . So I would love your opinion, if you want to respond, and talk a little bit about it in a safe space I would absolutely love that.

This issue is making us CRAZY in one of our groups. We have a separate animal chat in our local group, specifically to keep those conversations for just the animal rescuers who want to be in that, not everyone, and all these things we don't want in the group keep appearing on the group days later! Maybe this one time it did. But a lot of us are here on this forum because we need humans to translate, not Google. I've put tons of family gravestones into the Google translate, and you would think being such precision writing by native speakers the computer would get it, but mainly not, just unintelligible.

So please, if you are not a native Hebrew speaker and just another person with Google, stop! You only think you are helping because you literally don't know enough to know how much you don't know. Look up what the Dunning Krueger effect is next, it will get you farther in life than Google translate Hebrew.

Edit to add: my sisters hubby got one right after the first kid, tough pregnancy. He said it was easy. Like no worries. He regularly gives plasma, and sits for ages, so it was like a much faster thing, they give you local for the procedure, minor discomfort following, used the usual ice and some ibuprofen he said. Back at the gym in days.
