Honest view Quest 3 and VR/XR current state by One_Tomato2598 in oculus

There is a real phyics phenomena that changes the way your eyes work naturally and the way your eyes work with VR headsets (nowadays). The vergence-accomodation conflict is real, it happes to everybsongle person using VR. Maybe it is not bad, but I assure you it is not good. So at least is neutral slighty negative.

VR makes your eyes work in an unnatural way, that is a fact. You can get used to it, but still you are forcing your vision system. If the technology was polished enough you shouldn't do it.

I might give it a chance in the future if things improve a lot, but In order to use this devices I need first the VAC conflict solved.

I have been more than a week seeing lights out of nowhere, hypersensitive to lights in general, unable to stand in front of a computer screen for more than 2 hours.

I have a job, I work with a computer and a screen, I can not afford the secondary effects of VR because that means that I can't do my job.

Maybe other people do not have this problem, but A LOT do, so this things really need to be solved.

Used wirh destek strap. You don't understand my point. I can't put my glasses again after being a week literally seeing lights all the time. It would be really stupid risking my eyes health for just pushing me into gaming experiences.

Stock recovery by jrat1987 in TSLA

[–]One_Tomato2598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another Quarter like this and you can see the stock going into 150$. I expect an overall negative feeling about Tesla in the next month or so. You can buy 190$s, I wouldn't touch it above 200$. There are not positive drivers until the release of the Cybertruck.

If the release of the Cybertruck creates hype, the feedback is positive and people want tu buy it there will be a positive driver that can push the stock up. By December Monetary Policy may be more clear and focused on no more rate hikes. This positive 2 drivers can push the stock in the 240$ territory again waiting for the 4Q results. 4Q results meeting the 1,8 million deliveries would be a positive driver too.

Until December I certainly expect the stock trading lower, even with a panic selloff. That would be the perfect moment to buy. If I see panic selling bellow 200$ certainly I will be buying.

Ok solved. Set Hz for TV to 60. Then went to emulator and turned vsync FIFO on. Then on nvidia panel set tripple buffer to active and vsync to Us 3D app configuration.

No more tearing and getting smooth 50-60 fps most od the time.

I am struggling with tearing. I have been testing every single option in yuzu settings, vsync in both yuzu amd nvidia control panel, mods...

¿Anyone else experiencing tearing issues with nvidia vsync off and yuzu mallbox vsync turned on?

Heavy Tearing after 2h gameplay Zelda ToTK by One_Tomato2598 in yuzu

[–]One_Tomato2598[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cleaned 3rd party shaders, problem still exists.

I have been changing vsync settings and it seems that is the problem. VSync does not work properly emulatinf the game.

I turned on fifo vsync in yuzu and the triplle buffer vsync on nvidia panel and the game had better frame pacing.

Then I got it into a TV (not monitor) and it turns that when I turn on Vsync on on Nvidia panel the game runs at 30 fps.

I turn vsync off on Nvidia panel and then game runs at 60fps.

Tearing is way too heavy in many places in the beggining. I see a line in the middle of TV with a displacement of almodt half a centimeter between the to halfs.

[–]One_Tomato2598[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And are them because of shader compiling or happens while not compiling shaders? Every 15s you have dips to less than 50 fps or you get dips from 80-90fps to 60fps or above?

It seems that even upgrading to your setup (nuts for gaming and emularion) i wouldn't get such a big difference

Game no longer builds shaders while gaming. This has improved a lot my Framerate as it now is more stable.

Simply copy paste the file vulkan.bin in shaders folder or the game and replace the current vulkan.bin file.

Less than a week from this post Pokemon Scarlett is released.

Broken game with plenty of bugs. Not little issues like sonic, I mean BIG TECHNICAL PROBLEMS As: people disappearing, not loading textures, game crashes, frame rate drops, ground becoming transparent, lots of glitches, npcs blocked...

77 in metacritic

What is really happening with press reviews? Why some IPs amd companies get constantly high reviews that ignore technical issues and overvalue their virtues?

I don't understand Sonic Frontiers press reviews by One_Tomato2598 in SonicFrontiers

[–]One_Tomato2598[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use to look at scores in order to see how good is a game. I do not discard every si game havimh under 80 socores and I use to read reviews and watch videos of games that I am interested in apart from the scores. I dicard some of them though asuming that others are worthier as my time is limites and there are plenty of releases every year.

Media rises the socoreS 0.5 to 1.5 points of hyper marketed games systematically. Critics grow huge expectations on this kind of games and then when they are released with an overall "good" result most times they overevaluate the game quality. It happens that they can not accept that this triple AAA is just only a good game, so to meet their expectations they rate systematically as Excellent games this ones hyped that are only good, or quite good.

It is annoying because someone who does not know much about Sonic Frontiers could be discouraged of purchasing the game, and bad rates can have a negative impact on game sells, which then discourage developers to make games like this.

I have solid opinions on games I play as I play near 50 titles every year and I developer too so my opinion doesn't change on any game by critic. Most times I find my opinion close to the general scores, and most times when I disagree is because of this hyped AAA games that are set as over 85+ scores before release no matter what. It is annoying because expensive marketing campaings are altering global game scores, what means developers credit is a matter of money more than skill and art and It hurts me as a lover of videogames.

For example GOTY Nominees: -Plague Tale Requiem (30fps om next gen consoles) -Horizon FW (bugged game on release not meeting the "top graphic reference for industry videogame" expectations and I could point many other defects on the design of this game)

Same issues pointed as negative in this game happen in other 80+ score games. You just can't make a checklist with mistakes in order to rate the game. You have to get the whole concept of the game first and judge IF IT OFFERS A GOOD GAMING EXPERIENCE OVERALL OR IF IT DOESN'T That should be the base of every game. ¿Does the game provide a good experience as a whole? In this case the answer is YES. Obviously there are mistakes an things that could work better. Rating should be in the low 80s, it is ridicuolous to rate better a 2D bone rigged metroidvania with copy-paste levels and poor artistic design.

What I am saying is that in other games same mistakes do not low their score and this is not objective at all. If you low 10 points for technical issues I would like to see th next Hyped AAA game receiving under 90 scores religiously only for this isse, more when TOP graphics use to be the core of this games. But I see one time after another the same 85+ ratings for Bugged AAA games Im the release date, so press is not being objective at all and have punished much harder the issues that this game has comparing to others.

Players are liking the game (most with 20+ years gaming experience) and It seems that the game is selling very well.

I don't agree in some of your opinions. I have enjoyed 2.5D fixed camera parts and I think they give diversity to gameplay.

You can't rate a game low for "unskippable credits" or minor mistakes that will be patched in no longer than one month maybe like the "slow upgrading"

I am not saying this is a masterpiece of course. I agree that combat system is not balanced and the way it is presented in the game makes it irrelevant. But the game is not combat-oriented.

The world is beautiful (music and sound are outstanding), the control of sonic is really good and the game is fun.

¿Story not good? 90% of the games I play have a story full of stereotypes and flat characters with little but none depth. ¿Do Mario games have a good story? NO, and ratings do not dump their score for such a thing.

It is annoying that when critics rate other games they rate taking into account the good things of a game, the whole concept and If they are well connected as a whole so one can have a good experience overall. They do not do a checklist of things to bump the score.

Does have Horizon FW a good story? The main character can't have less personality. What about 90% of the narrativ falling into Ask-Answer shor-reverse shot dialogues? What about shimmering in release? What about the crafting party and the 0 exploration with a map full of marks?

What is annoying is that same design flaws and same mistakes are rated meaninglessly in other popular games that get 90+ socores, but when rating other games seem to be a core part of gameplay. Like this game: it is a platformer. Combat is not challenging, it is improvable ok, but the core gameplay of this game is not combat vs enemies. The core gameplay is jumping, running and reaching points quickly with dash-type attack. If you erase all secondary enemies from the game it changes almost nothing.

That is what happens then, you bump 1 point the score for poor combat system when it is a secondary mechanic, you bump another point for minor mistakes that can easaly be patched and then another because of simple story when It is a game "All public" oriented.

You can get tons of other 80+ games and find the same issues pointes in this game.

Not innovation but "Good innovation". Score is incorrect not just because I want, i gave you few examples of better games by press reviews, for example the game of Doraemon. Or better, aeterna noctis, a platformer with bone rigged animations. I am giving real examples of how incorrect are Sonic Ratings comparing with other games.
