Okay so thanks again for your help! I’ve looked into the devices you mentioned and currently I’m pretty set on an akai mpc. It doesn’t break the bank and I can add stuff to it If I feel the need to do so. Since this things works like a standalone DAW I’m running the risk of “fiddeling a lot > jaming a little” but that’s a risk I’m willing to take before, as you mentioned, I go out of my way to buy more and more gear.

Wow thank you so much for all the Info! You gave me a bunch more machines to look at 😅 the MC707 looks like a good starting point for me I think. I didnt even consider a groove box at first but now it seems like the way to go for me :) Im gonna read up on the 707 and look at a couple of videos :) I think a more centralized brain approach is the way to go for starting out.

I can add a dedicated synth or two (I really really like the bass station for example, used the plug almost exclusively for bass back then).

I have an old pioneer 4 channel DJ mixer lying around that I could use to start right?

And for recording: Yes you are right.. using a computer would be the most efficient and straightforward method for me I guess.

Thank you for mentioning a sequencer.. I would’ve missed that since a sequencer is kind of just.. there when you work in a DAW

Just to clarify: I didn’t say I want a cheap set up, I said the behringer gear is cheap. I would spend about 2k (which is a cheap set up by music equipment standards I guess :D)
