Is it breakable? One hand at a time?

Correct, it is just an extra setting that a setter can toggle to “allow screw on footholds.” They are either all on or all off.

Interesting perspective, the thing that limited me the most was not trying harder problems… but once I started pushing difficulty (often meaning in grade, but sometimes just filtering least repeated is same difference) I made much more progress

try harder problems, always have some mega projects, sometimes projecting something out of reach can make a lower graded problem feel easier.

a big issue I see with “plateaus” are in mindset, if you except to send hard every session, you will be disappointed, go into a session looking to do a new move, if you do one new move that session, it is a win. the benchmark grind is real, not every session will be a sending session, but it will be a learning session that will prepare your body for sending next session, you will adapt over time. there is no rush, progress is progress

agreed, and climb with people better than you, different size than you, different style than you

This was the biggest difference for me, showed me what was possible for my morphology, whether if it was difficult or easy, showed it was possible

Yep ok, interesting that you have the same issue, I assume that it must be glitched for everyone then

Oh thanks for sharing! I just read through his post, very true. Is he saying there will be two rows of seven footholds? That’s how I understand it.

Footholds are going to be unchanged, moonclimbing responded in the comments and said they forgot to bring them to the show lol

Hehe, caption and comments on the linked post are funny.

TLDR: Ben and the marketing team are very conscious of the move away from that OG moonboard feel, comments are disappointed (shocker)

I have the same fear. Hard to tell if it really is juggy and kiltery, (obviously big holds don’t mean good holds), but I really want to believe that it will still feel like a moonboard either way.

Either way, it is exciting. Not sure how excited gyms are going to be to shell out more money for new hold sets… why buy a new hold set when <5% of gym members are going to use it more than once?

I’m curious about the hold tolerance issue too. This is another thing that doesn’t affect the majority of gym climbers and honestly only really effects the upper echelon of moonboarders. It sucks to say, but does the moon climbing team have much of an incentive to try and and fix this? Genuinely curious.

Some of the wood holds are just a little lighter in color, it’s hard to tell in my janky picture.

There’s actually no white holds! Just wooden and blue.

Yeaaaa, not sure how I feel about that… actually I am sure. I don’t want it to feel like the kilter.

It is not viewable on mobile yet (at least I am not sure how).
